2005 C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan
Question on my stereo???
Well, here's my deal. I just bought my second Benz. She's a pre-owned Silver 2005 C230 K-Sport Sedan, in perfect condition. Sexy as hell, right!!! Anyway, my question is, when I turn my car off, is my stereo suppose to stay on until I open a door? The reason I am asking is because it doesn't stay on and I want to make sure there is nothing wrong with it. The stereo in my 2002 C230K stayed on until I opened a door. Once I get my picks downloaded, I'll show u mine... Wink Wink

I've owned many MBs including my current 02 C230 sports coupe. None of them had a radio that stayed on. I am assuming you are removing the key or returning it to the "0" position. You can turn the radio back on without the key at all. It will usually stay on for about an hour +- and is unaffected by opening the doors. The steering wheel controls don't work and on most cars the subwoofer on the BOSE systems don't function. All of the above applies to my BMW with a Harmon Kardon system which does exactly the same thing.

Patrick,
You are 100% correct. I misspoke. The radio only goes off when the key is completely removed; not just turned off to the 0 position.![wall](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/banghead.gif)
tloveice--maybe the problem isn't the radio but the ignition--just a thought.
