Our rear end seems to bounce around when we go over bumps in the road with our C240.

Anyone else have this problem?

It happens the most when one rear wheel hits a bump.

Saw a C240 last week that had a totally blown rear shock on the 405. I hear that W203 rear shocks tend to fail very early in life so I bet you need to replace the shocks on your vehicle.

Its not really a matter of age or miles so if its blown and bouncy its time to replace them all. I cant really think of anythign else that causes a car to po go down the road other than blown shocks.

Be happy u dont own a car with self leveling rear suspension They are $$$ to repair!

Thanks for the reply.

The car seems to jounce around.

It's not a bouncy feeling like when the shocks are gone. It's more like the feeling when you have NO suspension on the rears and car moves around when you hit a bump.

I don't know if I am explaining it correctly.

When I had my stock sport suspension I didnt get that feeling. It was nice and sturdy. You're sure its not a bad shock? If it is I still have my stock sport suspension in my garage.

I found the correct words to describe it I think.

It's a quick skip from side to side. I shimmy.

I think you should really bring it in to the dealer for that one.

CynCarvin32: Now you really have me questioning the longevity of my car W203. I'm worried and paranoid now. I sincerely hope the shocks do not go bad on me. We have some pretty bad roads here in Silicon Valley, CA.
