230 sport wont start

230 sport wont start
door is unlocked and the alarm starts every time it is open. neither keys will start the car and when it is hooked up to the jump box, the alarm starts going off again. what should i do? thanks in advance, blume.

OLD: 2004 C230 Sport Sedan, NEW: 2007 SLK350
Ouch.. seems worse than the problem I had...
When I had my C230 Sport, sometimes the car would seem to get stuck in a lower gear and I couldn't step on the gas, without the tach reaching redline..!
I actually had to pull over and stop and restart the car, and the problem would mysteriously disappear... have you ever had this problem?

That could be the automatic transmission getting stuck in "limp home mode". Only second gear is useable.

Sorry to hear what you guys are experiencing, so far none of your problems happened to mine. As to the problem that Tangerine was describing, I think it might be some sort of cold start protection kind of deal from factory.

sorry for the super late reply. the problem was that the battery was slowly leaking. once that was noticed and replaced, everything was back to normal! thanks for all the replys mbworld.

Wow, the battery was losing power or leaking its fluids?
If it's leaking its fluids, I hope that the dealer did a good job of cleaning it up, since it is quite volatile and acidic.
If the car is driven at least once a week, then things like this really shouldn't happen.
