1.8 Pulleys
I took a brief look at the 1.8 motor at the dealer this morning and it appears that the crankshaft pulley is a single plane (1 belt) pulley. It also appears to have room to grow. My guess is that would be a cheaper pulley to produce than the 2.3L crank pulley, possible an under $200 item.

Don't think it's possible with the single belt setup - with a larger crankshaft pulley you would overdrive not only the alternator, but the water pump and the A/C pump as well, which would likely be less forgiving than just the alternator (as in M111). S/C pulley seems to be the way to go.

Unless is was part of a complete alloy underdrive pulley kit similar to what evosport offers on the V6 MBs. Then it may cost more but it would yield a few more ponies. Probably still under $500.
