Perhaps there is wisdom in buying an old POS car after all, or maybe not loving a car too much. I've found that the more I like a car, the more it gets f**ked up by other d**kheads who drive POS cars. Or maybe I just don't notice the cars I don't like getting f**ked up...

I try not to take my car to the grocery store - I use the POS Honda for that....

Are you thinking about having it touched up somehow?

The damage looks to be only on the left bumper rub strip. If this is the case, you can just have the rub strip resprayed. Much better than having an entire bumper resprayed.

Ouch! I suffer with you.

But I'm sure a good paint shop can fix it so it will never be noticed (even by you).

My sympathies, Silver_Lana. Someone did that intentionally. The only thing that has happened to my coupe is two of my valve caps were stolen last night.

dagbannit!! seems to me like parking it way off the beaten path in a supermarket parking lot just invites a$$holes to play launch the shopping cart with your car as the target. like turning on the hazards when parked next to a hydrant...cop-ette once told me they're called 'come-and-get-me lights'...
instead, i always seek out the minivans with sliding doors...if you can find a spot between two of those you're pretty safe; their driver and passenger doors are pretty short and don't swing out too far...then again, there's soccer-mom's backing-out skills that will get you. come to think of it, that may be why i don't go to the supermarket anymore...support your local deli owner. and screw the savings.

I feel your pain. I had the same thing happen to me a couple of years back. I guess you can always be glad they didnt do worse damage to your car.

Parking is now a strategic decision making process for me. I park far away spots or the end of parking spaces. Far far away from rolling trolleys and stupid people who let their doors fly open.

There's a lot of truth to that statement. I babied my last car (truck) for 6 years. At 80,000 miles it looked brand new inside, outside, and underside. One day I took a backroad to work that a co-worker had suggested. I ingored the sign that read "fresh tar" because there was a heavy coating of sand one the road and it looked like it had been there awhile. A heavy rain came and started to wash the sand off. I figured the tar was dry or washed off by now so I kept driving (not that I had a choice at this point). When I got to work I almost fainted in the parking lot. All that hard work, worrying about dings and scratches, cleaning, detailing, sweating over 6 years was ruined in 10 minutes. I spent a week scraping the tar off the truck into 5 gallon buckets. I realized all it takes is one stupid manuver or bad day to make all that worrying seem like a waste of energy.

I drive and park my car everywhere. It's going to get scratched, dinged, or even stolen. If not today, then maybe tomorrow. I do try to lessen the odds, but I don't sweat-it. I own the car, it doesn't own me.

OUCH!!!

I can feel your pain. My "great" dealer made a big scratch in the rear bummper of my car. They said they will fix it next week. But, it is still hurting me.

BTW, I am in monmouth junction. the background of your car is looks very familiar... looks like "the east garden"

I hope we can meet in the NJ,NY,PA meeting....

cya.

bumper strip

I do believe that the bumber strip comes pre-colored as I had replaced the long one in the rear bumper and the shop said it can be ordered by the color. It shouldn't be more than $50, probably less.

painted by the bodyshop i would guess it to be a little cheaper than the pre-painted ones. a couple hundred dollar is unavoidable
