Are There Pads Available for W203 Jack Brackets?
Hi:
I want to use a floor jack to jack up the car, however if I directly put my floor jack under one of those four jack brackets (2 on each side: one for the front and one for the back), it will damage/crush the jack brackets (believe me I did damage one of them). I have searched the internet for this particular product, however without knowing the exact name of the product, I could not find anything. I found however, similar product for Porsche. Porche calls it jack lift pad. If anybody knows similar product for MB, please response.
I am now more curious than ever, how does the tire shop lift up the W203 when they change all four tires. On this W203, if you look under the car, almost all the bottom parts are covered with plastic covers. You can't easily find any metal to put your jack on.

Use a 12" long piece of wood (2"x4") on the jack plate and it'll work fine.
I've done this for 3-1/2 years when rotating the tires, swapping tires (winter/summer), and changing brakes.
No damage to plastic sills, and no scratches on the jack brackets of the car.
