Question How often do you see modded C-classes?

hey all,

I've been thinking about it, and as few mods have I done to my car so far (headlights, grill, tint), I'm pretty positive I've gotta be one of maybe a possible couple C-classes in my town w/ ANY mods... I have never seen ONE modded one driving around...

A little background:
I live in a college town of about 130,000 people... While the median income is basically middle class, we've got a massive collection of millionaires and billionaires (for some reason).

Mercedes aren't uncommon and actually, I see quite a few C-classes... but never a modded one. Always 100% stock!

I drive around and from the people who actually know the difference between classes of a Mercedes, I get the "what the heck is that??" look... Basically because they too have probably never seen a benz w/ mods.

While most owners are probably middle-aged plus, I know there are youngins like me out here driving them... heck, I've seen a freshman girl driving around in a 100K BMW.

This forum is full of modded, beautiful rides... I'm just wondering why I never see any driving around.

Whats it like where you live? Is this the same w/ you? I know lots of members live in the OC area and I can only imagine what I'd see driving around in that area....

In Oklahoma Mercedes in general are extremely rare...let alone a modded one! My c-class is modded pretty heavily...I dare say the most extensively modded mercedes in the state...but if I step foot beyond our borders....the humble pie is handed to me

Here in Central California there are a lot of C's on the road, but not too many with mods. I've seen a lot with tinted windows (does that even count?), a handful with tasteless aftermarket wheels, a couple with spoilers, one with a grille, no exhausts, none lowered, and no body kits at all. When I lived in the Bay Area, it was very common to see lowered C's, nice custom wheels, body kits, etc. Driving around Southern California it seems modded C's outnumber stock ones!

I live in Oklahoma as well, but in Edmond. Mercedes are not rare in the city, they're everywhere and just depending on where you go. I have only seen 2 or 3 modded benz around my area and most of the other benzes are driven by much older folks, i guess that's why they're kept stock.

In my neck of the woods..I''m about the original Poster. Not many Cs around and I'm sure I have the only modded in the city. Unless you count tint as a mod.

In SoCal, I see them all the time. Even funnier is when I see posers. Last week, I saw a black W203 sport sedan (non-AMG) driving on the 91 fwy. It had the single oval chrome exhaust tip, aftermarket CLK front grille, and 17" or 18" wheels. The real laughable part was the rear decklid said "C55 AMG." It would have fooled a few folks, except we all know that the real C55 has quad tips, and a CLK front end. It's possible to emulate the C55 quad exhaust on a non-AMG W203, but almost impossible to emulate the C55 front end.

I usually ignore posers though, not worth my trouble calling them out and starting a fight. FWIW, you can do whatever you want to your car and badge it however you want to. I'll keep mine badged as a C320 for now. Maybe I'll even switch the numbers and install my Kompressor badge so that it reads "C230 Kompressor." Hehe.

There are a couple c's with some wheels. I saw one with the star grill. But other than that...there is not much. And mine will probably stay pretty much stock. Oh, I'm in south west florida.

Here in New Jersey you'll see a hand full unless you go to one of the many car show's, for the most part like all others who've spoken some tint maybe rim's and or a spoiler, I'm guessing based on the provided info it's far and inbetween to see a completly modded C unless it's the one your driving "LOL".

L.A. is so spread out that I see modded cars all the time, but never to the point that makes me stop and look. Majority of the time, if it's a C Class in my area, I actually know the person.

2 days ago was the first time I mis-took someone's C Class for someone else's. I didn't recognize the person driving though, so I just gave him a thumbs up and kept driving.

In L.A., it's kinda hard to miss me, cuz I'm one of a few Midnight Blue C Class's in L.A (and nobody else I know has a C Class with color matched OZ's). Only other heavily modded Midnight Blue C Class I knew of in L.A. was Weidermann (C32) and I don't even know if he still views the board (let alone post).

Hell there are three modded c's in my complex, well make that four if you caount the c230 in my garage. My C32 is the best tho'. Mind you Miami you will see a lot of modded benzes out there, but it's mostly bling bling, heavy rims with centers painted and the chrome accesories they sell at the dealership. Once in a while you'll run into a renntech or a brabus, but for the most part it's just cheese and the people who own them have no idea what they have done to their cars.

When people have asked me about my Carlssons 2/5's , they'll refer to them as Axis Milano Knockoffs. That's how dim witted they are....

try living in newton where every car is either a benz, bmw or some other high priced automobile. there are a few c classes here (but getting less, cuz ppl are always upgrading like crazy) but they're all stock looking.

i was in c-town about 5 days ago and saw this nicely modded silver slammed c class with black rims and tint.

Orlando has a decent amount of C's, never seen a modded one though. There are a lot in Miami though like moosejaw said. I had to drive all the way down there to get mine down there because they are so plentiful down there.

yeah Los Angeles is full of modded cars, but for some reason i have only seen ONE modded c-class. it was getting off the 405 south near carson. i see benzes all over, mostly E-class. there is only one other Orion Blue Benz out there and its a coupe, i feel a bit exclusive :-D in my city (redondo beach) the only people that drives benzes are of retirement age, so no modding.
