Question about airflow

I was wondering if someone can tell me what will happen to the amount of air going to the engine from the supercharger if I increase the airflow before the supercharger???. Will the engine got more, less or the same amount of air… I would’ve thought that it won’t make any difference….can somebody confirm that??

I’m thinking of getting a high flow Trust pod air filter and I wanna find out whether I’ll get anything from this setup…that’s why I’m asking this question

Cheers

I have a couple of question for you. How much did you pay for the BMC air filter? Is it a foam filter? Do you happen to have the part number? Also what is your experience with the KLEEMAN ring Pulley? I’m considering the KLEEMAN products but still not decided to get the ring or the aluminum pulley.
Thanks

It's all about pressure drop, so my guess is, depending on conditions, you'd get more.

Though throughout about 99% of the average person's driving cycle, I doubt you'd notice anything.

The BMC is a replacement foam filter, it is exactly identical to K&N, you can even use K&N cleaning kit to clean it. I had to pay AU$150 or about US$80. www.bmcairfilters.com
BMC part number is 260/01 ; well this is assuming that C200K and C230K uses the same filter which I think they're the same.

I'm very happy with my Kleemann ring pulley and the power increase is very noticable. In my opinion is has the most bang for your buck in terms of engine upgrade. I'm sure you'll find a lot of threads about Kleemann experience if you search on this forum .

Cheers.

bajaiman-

As Spyke mentioned its all about pressure drop. The intake system on the M111 engine has several pressure dops- unfortunately the airfilter box is a minor one. The plastic inlet housing above the SC is the primary villian.

Beware of placing an open element filter on the box- you may loose a tiny pressure drop but you pick up much hotter air- often time negating ANY gain you might have hoped for.

bajaiman, thanks for all your info. Did you change your fuel settings to II after installing the ring?
