How to remove/replace gear shift knob?

I received a replacement gear shift knob & boot & bezel (all-in-one piece) to replace the scratched gear indicator on mine ('02 C240 auto). It looks like it has a swivel lock at the base of the knob itself which you get to by pulling the bezel and boot up and over the knob. Is this how you remove/install the knob?

thanks
Jim
