P.S. not to go off topic. But I am lovin' my 6 speed! The sound with the windows down is pretty good! The exhaust has a nice howl to it.

I believe they started that in '01. My parents '01 S500 had maintenance covered. Even then, it wasn't totally free, as wear and tear parts had to be paid for. Just covered the oil changes pretty much. BMW & Audi covered both scheduled maintenance and wear/tear items such as brake pads, wipers, etc.
Audi has recently dropped their free maintenance for '07 forward, however, as part of the car sale, a maintenance package is offered for $550 which covers the scheduled maintenances during the warranty period. Now BMW is the only one to offer included scheduled maintenance. Who knows, they may drop it soon too (rumors going around).

The biggest change I'm happy about is the engine! I'm sooo glad they got rid of the 4 cylinder. I had a lot of weird squeeking and squeeling coming from that engine. I love the V6!

did you actually try the parking assist mirror feature, or was just reading in the manual?
the easy entry/exit feature for the steering wheel/seat was always only available on those with the optional power seats. If you have the manual adjusted seats and steering wheel of course you won't get that feature.
fully loaded 2002 FTW....HAHAHAHA...jk

Passanger mirror tilt down can be activated as long as the car has memory seat package. If the anti-tow button is missing then I am sure they removed the tilt sensor as well located on the rear SAM in the trunk. Most cost savings.

Easy exit/entry feature, now it's only the steering that moves, the seat is not included in the said feature anymore.
And yes I have the power seat w/memory option.
