bagwell, I understand your point, I'd be sending it back too.
When I tried the LEDs on my car the OEM brake light bulb was a little brighter but when compared to the LED it made the red on the taillight look whitish, the LED looked reder-nicer.

the LED is supposed to be a lot brighter NOTICEBLY...its not the case with the bulbs I rcvd...

but.....the LED's lite up red...maybe if they were white since the lens is red already they'd be better.

not worth $52

Actually, they shouldn't be brighter than stock- stop lights are not supposed to blind drivers behind you. They should be visible enough under any conditions - that's all. The ones you purchased are supposed to face rearward; instead, they face up in the C Coupe. That's why they are less visible from behind. Also, keep in mind that the spectrum of the light an LED emits is much narrower than that of an incandescent bulb. In this particular case, this means that although the red (essential) component of the light LED produces may be brighter than that of a regular bulb, the latter may still be percieved as a brighter source overall because of its wider spectrum.

I also ordered a pair of red ones from the same source, tried them on the Coupe and reverted back to the stock bulbs. Instead, I put the LEDs in my Volvo S70, where they make one hell of a difference - their speed of operation compared to regular bulbs is noticable without any instruments.

For the Coupe one might try angle-mounted LED bulbs, but they are insanely expensive (around $85/pair), at least I couldn't find any cheaper on the Ineternet.

I have the sedan Vadim, so are facing to the rear directly.

I got these for the LED look like in the newer S and E's plus the fact they won't burn out as quickly...they look just like a regular bulb in the sedan's RED lens (the actual LED bulb shouldn't light up red IMO)...

don't bother - very disappointed here....!!!!

I'm sending mine back.
Mike, got your PM.

I have yet to receive my bulbs. But I am already disappointed enough.....oh well.....maybe we will find a company some day who makes the whole rear assembly just like the S-class!! OR maybe just go & buy a S-class???

If they do look like a regular bulb in the sedan's tail light assembly, then you are in good shape! They won't burn out, and they work fast. Keep them!

Ya, this really sucks, I was hoping they would look cool. How about LED turn signals in the front lights (amoebas)? What we really need is someone to develop clear tail light colors. Anyone know of a company? Anyone done it themselves? Grr...

So what about LED turn signals? Think they would be worth it? Or would those Phillips clear bulbs that blink amber be better? Sorry the LEDs didn't work. :-(
