Smile Prepping for trip

Hey all!!! First posting.
I just changed oil & filter and installed K&N air filters in my newly aquired 2003 C320. It is in preperation for a coast to coast trip soon. Even though my
Service A isn't due for another 6500 miles I decided to do this work myself before leaving. Great forum!!!
Looking forward to the future.

East to west - West to east?

Which way are you going?
Mapquest or Command?
Going to post pictures of the trip?

West to East

The car has Command and Voice Recognition System. I will bring the digital camera along.
One of the things I thought I would check is the MPG the car calculates and what I calculate to see if it is accurate.
I'm traveling from Southern Calif. to most likely Maine.
About 3 years ago I did a long trip was from SoCal to Kentucky in a '92 300E.

Can't wait to see the fall colors across the nation!!!

Sounds like a fun trip. Did you get the Comand CD's for the entire country? One thing I would take on a cross country trip in an MB is an OBD2 scanner in case anything went wrong. Also, even though MB has their roadside assistance, it's pretty useless (I tried it and they never got back to me, never dispatched anyone, never called me back and that was in the middle of the day), you may want to get AAA Plus service that will tow you 100 miles if there's a problem.

Almost ready

I already have AAA plus and just purchased OBDII code reader. Tried out the code reader and all is good to go. Thanks for the tip.
Now just waiting for new Sheepskin seat covers to show up.
