20 Inch Rims on C Class

I was just wondering if it was possible to put 20's on a c320, i saw nice 20" Giovanna Anzio rims for car applications, they also have 18's, but those are too small for my taste...

I don't doubt it's possible, you may have to roll the fenders if you're dropping the car at the same time.

i have seen 20"s on a c- class. i know it is possible, but those rims just look too darn big on a car this size (its not an S or CL class) and your ride will definitely be crap. the highest i would go on a C is 19", but if i bought rims they would be 18"

Please, Don't Do It! Don't put Giovanna's on a Benz, it looks awful. Thats a sure fire way to ghetto out a nice ride. Get nice wheels from a real MB Tuner, i.e. Brabus, Carlsson, Lorinser, AMG, Kleeman, Renntech. It will cost you more, but it is totally worth it. As for putting 20's on, its possible but highly not recommended. Ride quality would be awful and besides, with the 235x35x19 tire, a 19" rim looks huge on it anyway. Here is my ride with 19's Carlsson's on it, and as you can see, the rims dont look small. In fact, 99% of the people who see my ride think they are 20's anyway, and some don't even believe me when I tell'em they're 19's.

I do not believe that the wheel will fit under the suspension in the front. With my 19's on I can fit maybe a finger between the tire and the lower spring table. The only way to put them on is to change the front suspension...

I love the rims! Just make them 17's or 18's please. 20's are too much on that car IMO.

I rode in my cousins 2001 GS400 with 19's on it and it rode horrible. it reminded me of that rap song, "BUMP BUMP BUMP" thats all it did all the way down the road.

Looks Great

I did not think 20's could fit on a C-class, without the car sitting on a airbag suspension. The car looks great! I know some dislike large wheels, but I am young and love the big wheels. I have 19" Lorinser LM5's on my C-class and the ride feels smooth. If I knew 20's would have fit, I would be riding on 20's instead. I am jealous, that car looks great. The car has no wheel gap at all.

You can fit 20's on C but you have to change to coilover or airbag. I'll try to take a picture of a C with 20's on airbag. With the 20's you won't need any lowering cos the wheels is massive already

yeah, 20 is a bit too huge for C, you have to see it yourselves and it is very huge.

That C with 20 is located in jakarta, you won't beleive how many pothole the city has, and i don't think it has a nice long smooth road, i live there and i use jeep as my everyday use, can't be bother to use sedan

the wheels do look too big for the car... 19inch is the biggest i'd go, and that would depend on where i live and how much i drive.. anyhow here in miami, they put 24inch wheels on late buick regals and oldsmobile cutlass's... if you think those wheels look to big on the c, lol, you should see an 87 olds cutlass with 24's

Not only that, but usually the bigger the rim, the heavier it gets given same technology and you end up with all that mass you need to move to accelerate and turn. Ideally, you want to go with the smallest rim that clears your brakes.

For carlsson rims forged, the 20 inch version only weigh a mere 11.5 kg, very light, considering that my 19 inch 3 piece wheels weigh 25 kg. Carlsson cost twice too

If I am not mistaken, 11.5 kgs weigh around 25 lbs, compare that to the 15 inch Koseis that I run on my race car at 13 lbs.
Loaded with the 225/50/15 race tires, I end up 33 lbs per corner.
A 17 inch SSR Comp wheel weighs around 15-16 lbs. Loaded with a tire it weighs around 38 lbs.

I bet you that a 20 inch street tire weighs around 25 lbs at least. So you end up lugging around 50 lbs vs 38 lbs for a 17 inch.
Almost 50 lbs total for the car and remember that it is unsprung weight and also rotational inertia as well.

Unless it is a show car, handling and acceleration wise you are better off with the smallest/lightest wheel/tire combination that clears your brakes.

Although, on the street I guess handling would be a nonfactor, but acceleration still matters.

i don't think you'll be needing acceleration that much in a city that has a population of 10 million , beleive me, it take me some hours to travel some kilometres during peak hours, even the highways are choppy and yes i agree with you, 20's is for show only

ugh....why?

stff about bent rims and popped low profiles...then ask if it's worth it, homey

(I suppose next you'll be de-badging it, putting poseur C32 and AMG stickers in the windows and 'type R' decals on the fenders)

Honestly, you will really regret putting 20's on your car. 19's are the absolute max you would go, but even then you may have to roll the fenders.

But if you really want to put them on for the look, be prepared to drive like you are driving Miss Daisy!

20 = good luck with the rubbing etc.

19 = best rim size for a C-Class... trust me, get 19's.
