ride might be a little rough, but shocks can handle it for a while.

then, upgrade to coilovers in the future.

coupe Bi-Xenon is rare...get it while you can!

the tein S-tech...

i don't know what to say... i don't drift or drive rough...

but my rear tires are getting bald now, i have only 8000 miles on them, front are still good.

don't spend that 200 on spring and another 100bux on installation, go all the way and get coilover. I am thinking of Tein Basic or Tein Superstreet

the Tein spring feel ****ty, when you do a sharp turn your car jump a lot which i feel is dangerous, when you go over speed bump your whole car collaspe and bounce back up.

i don't know what to do now.

i still need to get
Brabus replica lip $300, yea wanna make my car looks even lower
Tein Coilover $1200, explained already
New Rear tires $350-400, stupid spring worn it out
Remus Exhaust $500, i want some deep sound
Brembo Brake $2200, front is dead... let's go for the BIG BIG thing!!!
M111 ENGINE PULLY!!! $550 - now need some extra 10HP!
8000K fog $280, yea screw you guys "i wanna blind da **** out of ppl!! " -Rahstyles
Double-Din Navigation $2000 - got tired of using Tape adapter deck
Bi-Xenon headlight $1300 - i don't know you tell me...

KBB price on my 02 coupe -$8000
all these **** total
price for all these **** complete my dream car -$8680 W.T.F MATE???!?!

yeah i am either going to (1) get KW V2 coilovers and be broke for a while... OR (2) eibach lowering kit and have enough $$ left over for a brabus rep lip.

btw... double din nav doesn't cost that much. i paid 1100 for the nav including accessories and installed myself. saved a lot of money that way. i'm going to upload pics of the install as soon as my friend sends them to me.

if i were you, get nav first... you'll enjoy it more and it increases the value of your car. installation isn't too bad as long as you have a friend to help out.

and with HID fogs, you wont only blind others... but if its foggy out... you'll blind yourself b/c of the reflection... im going to go with amber/yellow fogs.

I will post pics as soon as my lazy friend sends them to me... but basically there is no cutting of wires or anything that bad. Its all very straight forward if you have the right tools.

Avic-d3 Install

Okay, so I did this myself with the help of my buddy looking over my shoulder who owns an audio/tinting shop. This install includes the steering wheel adapter, CA-R-PI.131.

Instructions of how to remove the console can be found on this forum, but I just used the instructions supplied with the American International MBK100C kit.

Tools/Parts Needed:

-Metra 70-9401 Turbo Wiring Harness
-An extra wiring harness of your choice with wires of the same size as the Metra kit
-American International Kit MBK100C
-Proper torx screw drivers to remove console
-Wire connectors from Radioshack
-Plastic wedge
-Wire Stripper
-Many zipties
-Microfiber cloths

I did not show every step with this such as:

-dremmeling the American International Kit

-tracing the reverse light wire to the back of the car. this was done using the plastic wedge and it was traced behind all the panels of the car along the passenger side. at the end, it was connected to the reverse light wire on the wire harness plugging into the passenger side taillight.

-step by step connection of headunit, factory, and steering wheel adapter wiring harnesses. if you own a mercedes, i figure you're smart enough to follow directions. the basic instructions for this final step can be found here:

http://csua.berkeley.edu/~vaheder/st...A-R-PI.131.pdf

***Pictures of the final product can be found if you scroll to the top of this thread***

The following steps are just suggestions and were done by preference. I am not a professional installer. Actually, this was my first car audio install... so bare with me.

Other helpful tips can be found in the DIY thread for the AVIC-Z1 install

haha yeah... there are alot of brabus... because it looks so good!

i really like carlsson too, but there is no "replica carlsson" out there so i'll have to pay market value, which means $$$

i am thinking to get the reverse camera even though i dont need it, i just thought in combination with the convex mirrors, it'll be nice to easily see everything thats around me

I've seen the car in person and it is as nice as it looks in the pictures.

The d3 is amazing and makes the stock speakers sound amazingly better than the stock POS head unit.

BTW that carp111 looks like it generates the reverse signal. Why didn'y you just use that instead of going to the rear of the car? I'm glad you talked me into buying it! It looks like its going to make my job so much easier.

thanks thanks

i just followed the directions that came with the carpi131... it allows you to change radio stations, change tracks of a cd player, and change tracks of your ipod... in addition to adjusting the volume. pretty much the same as stock functionality. i recommend it for anyone with an aftermarket headunit.

w/o it its a pain to reach forward and hit the button on the headunit everytime you want to change a song/volume. it would be like having a television w/o the remote... you would have to get up/uncomfortably reach forward every time you want to change the channel. unless you like to cram yourself all the way forward in your seat. and i know people who drive benz like to pimp it...
