I meant the carpi131 provides the reverse signal thus saving you from tracing the wire from the back of the car.

you're right... keep in mind i pulled an all nighter doing the install, so when it was time to hook up the reverse light it was probably close to 3am so i probably wasn't thinking straight. you should try tapping into it when you do your install to save the headache. although, you'll still have to trace a wire back there anyways for the back up camera. when i see how yours turns out i think i might get one too

I just called a local shop which my friend owns and asked if he has the metra 70-9401 harness in stock. Long story short, it shows up as a land rover non amplified harness. Is this the one you used and how come?

BTW got the carp-131 and the d3 today!

yeah... the 70-9401 comes under land rover or VW sometimes but it works for our cars. if you dont believe me you can check fanito's DIY thread on the avic-z1, worked for him too.

congrads on the navi! i'll need to check out your reverse camera... i'm probably gonna put one in too at the same time i do bluetooth. i waiting for verizon's new for every two to get a bluetooth phone... couple months to go.

goodluck with the install...

He'll have the harness in stock tomorrow so it should be installed by the time I go to work saturday night.

I'll be tearing into it at work because my boss is still gone so I got nothing better to do besides homework. Of all the pics I've seen it made the d3 harness look so much bigger. i'll have to buy a tiny screwdriver to do the bypass.

I should definitely have pics of it up by monday but not like it'll look any different than yours.

they've always had those tech plates... i've seen them around for the past 2-3 years at least. i've always planned on getting one, and since the whole incident i feel more inclined.

so is cl203 a bad idea? i really wanted m271, but it was taken

haha hell no... i just thought it was funny... fak! maybe i should cancel it

its not bad... it may not have the size your 2.3l has... but it feels quick on its feet to me. i'll let you know again after my sprint booster.

one thing i do like is that since the supercharger is maxed on it, the engine sounds really nice at low rpm's... almost electronic humming, not like a typical petrol engine. i've heard the 2.3l and it sounds more like a diesel or standard petrol engine IMO

Those pictures of the pc install are not from a kit. That is obviously a custom fiberglass piece. It is not double DIN.

I knew it wasnt a regular double din...however I would love to have a setup like that (PC), even though money wise its a long shot for me....just wondering if anyone knew exactly what it was...and that looks very very clean.....as well as your installs too!

I personally think that CarPCs suck. I have both. I have a mac mini (mac/pc dual boot) hooked up to my AVIC. I haven't seen a car PC that comes even close to the elegance of a dedicated head unit's navigation/music/phone integration.

Yup (or the Z1). There isn't a fully functional bypass for the Z2 yet. The Z2 is just a software update to the Z1. The Z1 is upgradeable to Z2.
