the connection that am missing is the one with the speaker wires.
i had the same one you have then STEVE upgraded my car with the Euro Comand but i think the people with the Bose AMP System DONT have 3 connectors in the back since the fiber optic cable acts like a speaker wire and sends the signal to the bose amp then to the speakers.
but hey i might be wrong.

Sunil says theres no VSS, but some say its under fusebox. I'd listen to Sunil. its not 100% necessary anyways, correct?

well i have the BOSE system in my car and i will have to bypass it and this is what i think i will have to do
am going to be replacing my doors speakers and adding a 4 channel amp to power them. i will be loosing the Bose sub that is in the Rear deck and my center Speaker.
i will have to get 3 pairs of RCA wires that will connect from the D3 that runs to the rear of the car. 2 of the RCA wires will be for the Front & Rear Door Speakers and the third will be for my JL audio Subwoofer & Amp the 2 rca for the front & rear doors will be plug into a 4 channel amp then the wires from the amp will tap into the wires from the bose amp for the doors and tweeters see attach pictures for the wires from the bose amp!
this a picture of the Wires from the bose AMP taken with my crappy MDA phone these should be the wires that runs to each speaker in the car
this is where the installer tap the wires to too hook up my JL audio sub he add a 2 Line convert here then run the wires to JL audio 250/1 Amp that powers the sub.

Hey WaveyKat,
Very good info you wrote here. Just curious, why did you have to bypass the stock Bose amp?

Because the Bose amp works with the FACTORY headunit via Fibre optics and if you are replacing the headunit you have run a new set of wires from the NEW headunit to the back of the car where the bose AMP is and connect the wires there.

Alrighty, the ipod cable and steering wheel adaptor finally came in today so I'll be heading down to the post office to pick everything up tonight.
Can't wait!! I'm possible just as excited as Gary with his TEIN's... haha.

ok so i hook up my D3 to External 12V Power supply so i notice that you have to connect both Yellow (Battery) and Red (ACC) wires from the Avic harness and Metra harness then attach power wire to all 4 wires for the Avic D3 to power on..
see pics

Nope, just connected red and yellow from Metra to Avic and that was it. I think the antenna adaptor isn't right because it doesn't fit very tight but thats okay because I don't listen to the radio anyways.
One thing though, make sure you push EVERYTHING off to the side because it will get tight back there... really tight.
