kitty do as he said and use your up and down botton then +/ - to look for it... On your way you might find some useful discovery like illumination or "easy access option" for seat position if you have electric seats

I tried to get the Pac SWI-CAN+SWI-X installed today and was told there is a plug missing which the Car.pi steering wheel adapter has...did the place miss something in the wiring? The plug thats missing they say if I an not mistaken is on this pdf on page two the mercedes can plug...

I was also told that the SWI-X is not the right module either its another pac-audio module that attaches to the SWI-CAN...

Hey Waveykat did you ever get your clock set? I had to change it with the OEM nav so I can't change it unles you found another way...

No....the installer claims I am missing the Mercedes CAN plug which a picture can be seen at PAC-audio.com on product link the PDF for SWI-CAN on 2nd page.

Sorry you meant the steering controls....well before I got rid of OEM nav I had to set it from there and now basically no way to set it now

I'm not sure how to get around that because I still have to set the clock on the car and on the navi seperately.

no i didnt get it changed yet i need to remove Navi=Present in the Car's computer so then i will be able to fix the clock from the Steering Wheel. another option is to remove the Negative terminal on the battery and the clock will reset i have a friend with the STAR computer i will ask him to remove the Navi=present.

Your installer is smokn crack.....the mercedes can-bus adaptor is standard equip, maybe it is tucked down behind the stereo in some way????

I am doin much of the same thing but i dont think i have the premium sound. My system has no changer and only seems to have 6 total speakers. Either way I just bought:

Clarion max685BT that comes with bluetooth so no adaptor needed. It also has ipod controls built in as long as you connect via USB. no extra harness needed.

the mounting bracket you listed above and the wiring harness.

I will be investing in other "extras" like nav and sirius later. I will take pics of the parts and do a little how to when it all gets in.

i really hope i dont have stock amps to deal with.

How do I tell if I have a preimum or HK system? It's an 06 C230.

It says on your speakers if you have HK system otherwise you don't.

Sorry for the post - I've spent @ 4 hours on the forum searching last couple of days trying to figure out to go with Argos..AVIC.. - I finally decided that Argos was a waste based on some negative feedback (works 50% of the time/poor sound quality) - spending close to 1K I might as well invest in AVIC and get many addl features.

I'm mainly looking for Bluetooth phone integration.

I have a 2004 C240 with Bose Prem Sound & Teleaid & CD Changer.

Seems that the AVIC is the best solution from reading all of the feedback.

Questions:
1) Is there a good installer that you can recommend in the SF Bay Area/San Jose?
2) Will my CD Changer still work afterwards.

All Pro Audio in Santa Clara on Stevens Creek. They are installing my Avic-D3. Your stock CD changer will not work. Talk to Jim. If you do, tell him Greg referred you.

As stated the stock CD player will not work, but Pioneer does make a 6 Disc that will fit in the same location......

They recently acquired AMS on Stevens Creek. They are installing mine on Thursday. They are across from the Honda dealership on Stevens Creek. Very nice guys and they know their stuff!

I'm still researching that. I'm leaning towards the D3. I see the following advantages over the V2:

Cheaper.

Faster iPod integration (this would replace my CD changer) (this is what I've read - not sure why the V2 would be slower I hear it uses a different interface...)

I guess the color display change feature of the D3 may be cool (minor advantage - hopefully it has orange to match MB).

The V2 has the Hard Drive - but what would be the point - music would be on the Ipod - so your nav disk could remain inside or swapped out once in a while.

I'll give your installer a call - are you also getting the 131 steering control unit setup as well?
