You losing those things sounds like the connectors aren't secure

I believe we share the same climate control unit...about a month ago I had an issue where the air would comeout ice cold even though engine was hot and climate control was set to max heat. After trying different solutions given an educated Benz Mechanic told me to check connecters(2 of them) that connect to climate control unit were in correctly...well after doing so I got heat again and no issues since. I would double check myself...see if maybe one of the power wires weren't spliced into...check that connector is in good condition. If it was working before then maybe they spliced into it..maybe they overloaded it... Check it apart to see if it turns on...check fuses.

2002 C240
I was wondering if anyone could help me with my Z1 install.

I have a 2002 C240 with a build date of 09/01. I purchased the Metra harness 70-9401 but for some reason the Z1 is not powering on. It looks like the pins for the harness do not correctly lineup with the cars plug.

Does anyone know of there is another harness that I should be using or what color wire the ground, constant, switched, dimmer, and power antenna are?

^ i am having the same problem, pull out the plug and move them to the correct position. Mine current only works if all power and acc line is wired to one line, which i think is acc, since it stays on when car is off. Any one have the wire diagram for the stock radio.

grim any luck with the reception, my sucks also.

No luck with reception, still haven't got an answer about which plug is the radio FM plug. I may work on it some more this weekend though.

so no luck on bypassing my unit but i did fix the power issue and the radio reception.
I did have to run the acc wire to the cigarette light so i also used the illumination from there.
Radio reception was due to the crappy extension wire from pioneer, I twisted the wire by their control unit and it got better but then moved back.

Kenwood DNX-8120??

Whats up guys,
I just read the last half of this thread, but didn't find what i was looking for. I'm most likely gonna get the Kenwood 8120. I want to hook this up to the steering controls. Ive seen the Pioneer with controls, but has anyone done this with the Kenwood?? If you have, can you post pics and part numbers for the steering contols. I went to 2 different stereo shops and they both told me i need 2 modules for this to work. For those that have have the 8120, what do you think of it?? ive only heard good things from my friends that have it... Thanks!!

I was going to get the 8120 before nd I was told you can hook it up to the steering wheel. YES, you need modules, can't remember the code, pretty straight forward if you look for them,

One thing I like about 8120, it has a built in audio processor for DTS 5.1, Dolby ETC. Others: higher resolution, built-in GPS and bluetooth and higher power output.

did you end up getting the 8120?? if not what did you get? Yeah its a good HU, pretty much has everything you need without any add-ons..

i need to find those part numbers though so i can just buy everything and take it to my installer... ive pretty much searched everywhere and i think i found 1, the pac one, but the stereo shops told me i need 2 modules??? i dont think they're gonna tell me what they are unless i buy it from them... ill search some more...

No, I didn't get 8120, I got the Alpin W-505 instead and you're right about 8120 has everything you need in one unit. Like myself, I got the W-505 last year and still haven't bought he B200 Blackbird Navigation yet since the reviews have been UGLY! So far, no GPS and bluetooth for me since it's all together in that Blackbird device. Other than that, I'm VERY satisfied with my HU

I'm sure some members know what modules you need, try to post in Audio section. I remember I needed to get 2 modules for my Alpine, but I didn't do it and it's been fine for me as long I have the remote.

I tried to search for the modules in my local shop's website and the modules aren't there anymore, used to be in their website.

For those of you having problems with the am and fm reception I figured it out and solve the problem by connecting the antenna control on the avic harness to the blue and white stripe of the metra harness for our car. Fm now has a great reception.

The blue and white wire is the remote turn on for after market amplifiers i recommend to switch it to the solid blue which is the power antenna wire. (but if you don't plan on adding after market amps leave it alone)

I was refering to the metra harness for our car and not the avic harness. If I remember correctly there is only one blu and white wire in the metra harness.

Ok I am lost and maybe it is me but I have a Pioneer D3 with rear view, ipod cable and bluetooth module. Thanks to this thread I was able to locate the SCOSCHE MZ2347 and appear to fit just right. Question, what else do I need to get this to work? Steering wheel controls would be nice but not as important as NAV… this is going into a W203 05 with H/K system.

Side note; am replacing speakers with Infinity reference components and a pair of JL audio subs with a 5 channel amp.
All I need to know if there is any wire harness that I must get!!!!

Thanks guys !!!

Does anyone know if the pac audio SWI-CAN/SWI-PS will work on the 2005 c230 for steering control? It shows on the website it will work for 2002 and 2004. Are they different in the wiring harness?
