wow.. really?.. I thought AMG is the quietest.
I've heard Eisenmann, Carlsson, and Brabus.. they are all louder than AMG.
My favorite is Eisenmann Racing exhaust which has a loud and very sporty sound.

What's it made out of, platinum? Oh well, as P. T. Barnum said, "There's a sucker born every minute."

I haven't priced things in a while, but I'm pretty sure I could have a stainless steel exhaust like the one you describe custom made a local muffler shop for a fourth of $1800. Hell, ten years ago, I had a custom single exhaust (not stainless) including, the muffler, made for $75.

1800 for a dual exhaust is just insane. I'm currently in the process of moddin my car with a pretty tight budget. I went to a local muffler shop and asked for a quote for a custom dual exhaust complete with tip and he quoted me for 375. I don't know about the material and sound but the shop is pretty reputable. 1800 for a dual exhaust is just insane. Just like buying a 4000 dollar monoblock VI when there's a replica for just 250 each.

It's the name of "Brabus" that's costing so much.
But they do make quality products though.

Why buy fake stuff for, thats what i dont understand....why buy something fake and try to pass it off as real.....if price is a big concern and you dont want to pay the price for the real thing i say dont get it at all.... Theres a reason why you get a BENZ....and if your going to MODIFY it do it right.. you dont own a Honda where you can put fake stuff on and it will be ok (BUILD QUALITY)...Sorry if i sound a little upset, its just that i pay good money (Do not REgret) for Parts for my car, when there are people buying the fake kits, rims...etc... and try to pass it off as real...MODIFYING a BENZ it A LOT OF MONEY nothing is cheep...so if you want to MOD buy the real stuff.... IMO

Got the eisenmann exhaust on the coupe!

Well, after having a remus for about 5 months, it was time I decided, that for the money I spent I should get a BIT more noise lol..

So some guy was sellin it on ebay, and I traded him my remus plus cash for the eisenmann. Came with both a strait pipe connection and a resonator. I am runnin it strait pipe right now..

Twin 83 mm tips looks GREAT! The sound is incredable, im not sure if it is race or high performance, but it is quite noisy, and I am so happy of how it sounds. It puts the remus to shame. Everything bolts up to the car, no welding at all required which is nice for us leased car bunch!

The tips of the remus definately have a better finish however, but the eisenmann has the sound goin for it!

Ill take pics tommorw, the 83 mm JUST fit without hittin the bumper.

x - thanks for meeting up with us yesterday. The sound in that exhaust is very, very nice. Will have to get one when I return from my vacation.

All we have to clear up is the soundpipe/resonator issue. Still really confused about that.

Get pics up when you can!

the sound pipe replaces the resonator. If you want your car to be louder then you want the sound pipe. If you just want the look of the new exhaust and less sound then keep your resonator

Hey guys, havent forgot about this board, ive just been busy..

Tommrow I will try to get up a wav and pics weather permitting..

I am usin the soundpipe right now, and it sounds great, today i was really punchin it, and the exhaust has such a sweet tone from 4-redline. I love it!!

Totally beats the remus hands down, and that bogging feel my car used to have is no longer there. I think the remus decresed my low end a bit. That muffler was heavy too. The eisnemann is very light, and full catback with new piping./

Thumbs up very nice!

Nice choice X! So the Eisenmann is a cat back exhaust ? I thought it's just a muffler...anyways, that would be nice ...btw can u feel any performance gain? Their chart claims around like 5%. Thanks

Jonathan

P.S. Tommy, regarding to your question, here's the answer from Eisenhaus:

It really depends on what type of sound tone you want.
If you want more aggressive sound tone/note then
you want to have the sound pipe option.
With this sound pipe option, you are replacing stock resonator
with straight pipe application which means better air-flow
(more performance) and more throatier/deep tone with somewhat
weight savings.
Hope this has helped, let us know if you have further questions.
Thank you for your interests in eisenmann exhaust systems.

Best Regards

The Eisenmann on X's car has an after cat bolt-on attachment, that provides the sleeve to either the straight pipe or the sound pipe, that in turn then sleeves onto the rest of the piping to the muffler itself.

The tips looked great IMO, the car sounded great. I am going to get the race perf 83mm asap!

The soundpipe will reduce exhaust flow but I am still confused about the sound difference. I have never heard the Eisenmann soundpipe but pocholin removed his stock resonator. The results he posted is that is it now louder and raspier. He also stated that there was a noticable improvement in performance. His thread is over in "Perfomance Tuning"

I don't understand this response from them. I don't have a stock resonator (C7 package) so why would the additional "sound pipe" be a straight pipe application when I already have a straight pipe?

The Eisenmann sound pipe is not needed if you have a C7 car.

You do need their soundpipe. there is NO cutitng of your stock exhaust system if you just invest the extra 30 in the pipe. The reason it is unique is because it comes with the flange mount to the back of the cat pipe this way u dont cut the exisitnng stock system. The resonator they GIVE you is standard issue i think, and that has the flange mount on it too.

I guess you can cut ur stock stuff if ud like but the piping doesnt even look to be the same size.
