I know i might get
for this but... i was wondering if anyone knows if a 5zigen Fireball exhaust will fit on a 2002 C230 coupe... i did a search and did not find anything... I ask this because i can get that particular model very cheap... I was also wondering if this muffler will be way too loud on the car...
what other brands/models of exhaust do u recommend for the C230...
i don't want something that will force me to cut the bumper and i don't want something that is too loud

Fireball is loud, I used to have it on my GST back in the day. If you want to save $$ get Remus(I guess) if you dont mind spending the extra $$ get Eisanmann.

hey guys im thinking about going to brabus and getting the whole exhaust system, i know a few people on the board have done that, i just wanted to know how much it will cost me out the door, how it sounds, and how much hp it will add to my w203 c240, thanx for the help
MBWorld Fanatic!
It sounds "roaring deep". Whoever told that getting an exhaust will increase hp was a lie. It is mainly for cosmetic purpose. A full exhaust with resonator is USD1365. If you want to buy one, feel free to shoot me an e-mail.

Alright first the good stuff. I finally got my Brabus Exhaust and Resonator Thanks to Harris. I am finally happy
I love how the exhaust looks and the sound is just dope. Plus it looks pretty good with the stock rear apron. Brabus also sent me the rear badge since it took them couple of months to get the resonator shipped from Germany
So I'm debadged and can't tell i have the measly m271 haha....I just don't run anyone drive slow as if i got a V8 under my hood
Now the sad stuff. I dynoed my car after i did the exhaust at the same place. M271 owners grab your handcrecheifs and get ready to cry. And M111 owners here is another one for you to think you have a 500 hp V8 go on start bla berin. Ready:
I put:
145 hp @5500
152.2 lbf @3500
before gettin too sad (m111 owners too happy) there are several things. I did put the car in dyno mode (thanx to awesome instructions from Buell) but even using the touch shift the car down shifts so they couldn't do a pull in 4th and had to do a very short pull in third. So the guy told me thats not 1 to one etc. they needed to have the car stay in gear but it wouldn't and the M271 peak is at 5800 rmp not 55000. plus some other stuff... I'll scan and post the dyno when i get a chance.
before you ask...
It was a Mustang Dyno.
Bottom line even if they make all the adjustments ....this car will put at best 160 hp to wheels. thats the truth of it....so i'm not gonna argue and say the dyno was wrong or right bottom line thats the correct RANGE...its around there...meaning at best 160. or maybe 145 is it...
now start fightin lol just kiddin...but i can sense the flame comin....
finally a hot thread on this forum huh!!!

The manual usually gets more Hp to the wheels than the Automatic.

150 is right on for a %20 loss in the drivetrain. I think the MB auto is somewhere between %25 and %20 loss. The 6 speed should be closer to %15.

Just one thing, Brabus never claimed to add more HP with the exhaust only.
MBWorld Fanatic!
You cannot hear the "true" sound of the exhaust on the first day of installation. The exhaust needs to break in too. Give it a month or so and you'll notice the deep roaring sound.

There's no replacement for displacement.
(pushing up the 30 degree hill at 45mph at 2k rpm without breaking a sweat) Oh yeh.
Sorry. But I DO love my M111.
The 1.8 is always downshifting (auto), and wheezes when accelerating on a steep hill...hope you find a way to get more out of it.

i recently purchased a brabus exhaust and i just installed it yesterday. but it looks way too long and too long, how do i go about correcting this? purchase the brabus rear apron? also the stock exhaust is 1 giant piece? i was in san jose to get it installed, and i couldnt bring it back!!!! can i possibly cut my exhaust in half then bring it back and then weld it if i put it back on?
MBWorld Fanatic!
First try loosening the clamp where the Brabus Exhaust connects to the stock pipe and slide it back as far as you want, then retighten the clamp. I would take it back to the shop where they installed it and have them do it.
MBWorld Fanatic!
you went all the way to san jose to do your exhaust?
the brabus exhaust doesnt look right on the stock bumper... should get the rear bumper to match.

it wasnt only for that. it was my cousin's birthday. when i was there i got my brakes done, exhaust done, was gonna have my coilovers installed and alignment but ran out of time, plus navi but couldnt get it in time
. i was also supposed to get all these little things reprogrammed by the star diagnostic but again ran out of time, because the service department where my cousin works closed at 3.

Hey everyone, I got a question about Remus exhausts. Anyone have it? How is the quality and hows the sound. Will I feel a difference in sound? I'm not after hp gain or whatever but more into the sound. How does it sound on a C-Class.
Senior Member
I've got one on my car right now, the quality is good, the sound...uhhmm...well not that really noticeable from inside the cabin. I've removed the resonator and it sounds better now. I'd suggest you to try other brands...if I have to do it again I'll get Supersprint.

I am using Supersprint now, the sound of supersprint is not as loud as remus but my installer was telling me that supersprint has better performance than Remus. Well, I do feel a little better performance in the high end. Remus is also OEM for Carlsson exhuast.Originally posted by bajaiman

Some of them I've seen pics of look exactly like Remus. I could be wrong, or they could buy from two sources or swithced sources.
