Wheel specs question

I came across what I think is a pretty good deal on the following wheel package: four HP Evo Hyper Silver Light 18" x 8.0", Pattern: 5x112, Lip Size: 2-1/2", Offset: +38 for $1,085. Price includes four 225/40/18 Hankook K106 tires, mounted & balanced and a "mounting hardware kit".

I have read some posts on this forum about offsets but have no idea as to how this +38 will affect my C240. Can someone please give me some advice as to the problems this can cause or what are the trade-offs? Will this affect the car's handling? Any other advice or comments would be greatly appreciated!
