strange noise from 0-20MPH

i was workin this weekend at a apple cider mill near albany and i was blocked in so i decided to drive around the cars. The ground is just grass and mud. I heard a horrible noise and than i realized i hit a tree stomp. I slowly than drove away. Nothing was leaking but now sometimes when i slowly accelerate i hear a rasp sound. Does neone know whats wrong?? Btw i think my car needs a alignment too is it covered under warranty??? The rear drivers side tire seem to wear faster than the other.

what kind of rasp? Weezing air? or a rattly sound? Ya should be more descriptive

As for the alignment... maybe check your tire pressure on that wheel vs the rest of your wheels before ya go gettin an alignment.

good luck,

That's odd, the rear passenger side tire is the one that should be worn out more. Most Mercedes vehicles have something called an "open differential" meaning that the rear passenger side tire starts spinning first before the rear driver side wheel starts spinning. It's minimal so your car isn't going to be going in the wrong way but it's noticeable in the tire wear.

If there is an odd raspy circular whirring sound when you're driving at lower speeds, this could be the sign of a bent/cracked horizontal drive shaft or something wrong with the differential. You can tell if it's a circular whirring sound by having someone in the back seat listening for something that sounds like a weight is rotating unevenly. There will also be a slight vibration at high speeds.

Best of luck.

thanx guys sorry my bad the tire thats wearin out the most is the back drivers side... sorry i made a mistake thinkin it was the rear passenger one. neways the sound is more of a rattly sound. Also my car seems to make noise when the wheel is cranked all the way to the left or the right my buddy told me it might be that my power steering fluid is low. thanx again
