"switching" sound from behind console?

Lately I'm getting an electrical switching sound in my 2002 C230 Coupe w/ 60,000 miles. It sounds a lot like the power door loks (but it's not), and it sounds like it's coming from behind the radio. I hear it 5 or 6 times after starting, then it stops. Of course, I'll bring it to my mechanic, but does anyone have a guess?

Had the same thing, I took it into the stealership... they said that it was normal, then wrapped a solinoid in foam to lessen the sound. Cant recall what it was exactly, as this was 2 years ago.

Im guessing this noise is different from the "knocking" noise or the "clicking" noise described in many posts where people have a busted stepper motor?

Justinius7 - whatd it cost ya to fix it?
