Fastest you've driven your coup?
Just curious if people are willing to admit the fastest they've gotten their c230 coupes up to.
When I'm on the freeway with no other cars around, even 85 feels positively slow.
I've found myself doing 100 without even realizing it!
This is with the c7 wheels and tires....which seems to smooth out as the speed increases.
It's decieving since with the stock suspension (sucky) you could be in trouble, if you didn't remember just how sucky the suspension is, or how fast you were going.
Sometime soon, I plan to upgrade the springs etc. once people decide which is really the way to go. So far, the best review I saw was for Kleeman springs and stock shocks!
But them Kleeman springs cost as much a springs and shocks from other companies. Hmmmmm.......

The suspension is not "sucky". In the US, the coupe standard suspension is the optional sport suspension in the rest of the world. MB designed both to be more than adequate for cruising the autobahns at over 130 mph.

How Timely a topic.. :)
I did 115 for about 1/3 mile on Va rt 66 from between rt 17 (WInchester) and Fairfax. It feels good after having to baby that thing for the 1K break-in.
I must say I felt the most power and acceleration between 70 - 90. AFter that the Coupe kinda struggling (at about 5100 RPM) at that time.
I wish I didn't chiken out so soon... but may be next time
Peace

well..i agree..without tuning the suspension...the car handles like total sh*t
I would agree that the car handles like crap if the ESP is on.

white and whiter
U.S. spec cars are usually higher because the one of the regulation made up by the stupid government people requires the bumper level to be higher, so that it won't dive under other cars in a crash. Since in the states people love SUVs this law protects people that are in the smaller cars.

As for me, my car only has 1500miles on it...I'm trying to avoid warp speed till I get some more miles on it, although I admit venturing well past the century mark just to see how the car feels...rock solid. Anyone who says the car handles "sucky" at speed doesn't know what they are talking about. Run a Civic up to 100, now that's sucky.

2000 300m, 2003 C-Coupe
Only 100mph, but I had a couple guy's with me and one was freeking because I was running out of road. I took it to 85 coasting like, and the guy not *****'n asked if that was all she had. I took it up to 100 in a flash. The 15mph picked up very quickly and obviously was asking for more. Maybe next time. The 1.8 is not your grandma's engine.
