then I suggest painting a pre-facelift Coupé grill in black.
There are some industrial paint stores, that will sell you authentic / original Mercedes-Benz paint, and put it in a spray-can for you.
I did that once with Brilliant Silver (744) and it worked great.
That way you're guaranteed a great match, as long as you spray correctly and evenly !

suggestion
hey advans... i dont know if this is possible, but i took the liberty to photoshop your car to see what it would look like if you painted half of your chrome strips black to give it a CLK look.
i also attached a pic with the facelift grill on there for kicks

hmm... sometimes I think the best look for MY car, I think is the stock pre-facelift grill with the schatz strips (i have already).
I mean, the mattig grill is sexy as hell, but I dont have bi-x lol and it looks funky without bi-x.
So my second choice is a painted pre-facelift grill, and I dont know abt the grill star. I think leaving it chrome is tacky, and painting it black is weird as well.

Will the new 2007 C55 grill fit on c-coupe?
I don’t like my c-coupe grill with its glitzy chrome detailing and oversized MB star.
Was looking at the new c55 at the dealership and loved the badge-less grill. will it fit my coupe?
Are the grills of any other model interchangeable
with mine? .. (like the C sedan and the CL grills)

as for sedan grills, they WILL NOT fit any coupe. not even if you "slightly" modify it, u'd have to modify alot.
and I dont think 2007 offers C55 amg, you must have been looking at 2006? (correct me if im wrong)
your only options are said above.
Custom your pre-facelift grill.
Buy a facelift grill (or customize it)
Buy a Mattig Grill.
thats about it. we have no other choice.

2002 C230 Coupe(M111)
The 05 Evolution Grille is the best bet. When I switched out my stock grille for the Evo version I painted it a smokey silver, the bright silver it came in is too close to the color of my car.

no title
the only "star less" grill you can grab for the c coupe is the MATTIG GRILL, offered for the C COUPE.

Buy from Mattig?
Has anyone bought straight from Mattig. It looks like the grills are only about 87 Euro on their website (under $120 US, I think). I couldn't find information on whether they can/will sell and ship to the US though. Any experience with this?
I notice the above price includes VAT (18%, I think), which we could presumably get back? That would probably pay for at least 1/2 of the shipping.
