Adaptive Tranny- Can it be disabled?

Has anybody tried disabling this damn adaptive tranny? I love the way my car drives after the ecu reset but it kinda gets annoying doing this after every 40 shifts. Besides I am the only one that drives my car and I would like it to be aggressive all the time. Another thing is if I do have family or older/eldery passengers I put it in C mode so it can start in second gear and noone gets thrown around and also so its a smoother ride. So does anyone else feel the way I feel about this damn adaptive tranny.

I have to say, it seems odd that Benz gives us a C and S mode option but inevitably the S gets more and more like C the longer you go between resets. Such is life I suppose. I have had my Benz since July and only discovered the accelerator reset trick three days ago. It was a completely new driving experience.

From the limited reading I have done in the last week or so, if you don't want to hassle with resetting the adaptive manually your best bet seems to be a SprintBooster. Though, people who install them say it gives even better throttle response than the accelerator reset.

I've felt this way the last 3+ years.

I hate the fact that MB took a great car, and added a piece of software in the tranny that tries to 'guess' what it is that you want to do.

Example: Take a long drive over the interstate to the mountains. Upon arriving in the mountains you want to attack the road up the hill, but the tranny is still in 'grandma mode'.

This is one place that BMW still has it right, and is better than MB. They let the driver control the car, and the electronics are subservient to the driver.

If anyone figures out a way to 'kill' the adaptive option, please let me know.
