wiper "spoiler": top or bottom?
Yes, I searched. and after reading 200 posts, I finally did see one pic.
Anyway, when I got my coupe, a friend told me that the spoiler on my OEM wiper was in the wrong position: it was on top and he said it's supposed to be on the bottom. I figured he knows better than I do (those of you that have read my posts would probably concur), so I switched it. Now, a year later, I buy my sedan, and, lo and behold, spoiler on top. The one pic I found after searching "wiper" was from Citron (hey Citron, how you doin'?), and in the pic he was showing his new aero wipers as well as his originals, but the originals were just laying on the windshield, not hooked up. So, even though Citron's looked to have the spoiler on the bottom, they were just laying there, so I can't be sure.
Anyway, anyone know: top or bottom?
edit: Citron's pic:

Had to go look at mine, just now, to refresh my memory but the spoiler on my 2002 C32 is on the bottom of the arm (just like the arm shown in your pic, on top).

I've always assumed the spoiler was to keep adequite pressure on the wiping blade at higher speed, as the wiper might lift. Without a local autobahn to test this theory, I would answer your second question with a "problably not".
Interesting subject..I had my car go through service B in July..since then everytime it rains moderately heavy therefore putting wipers on constant setting, damn thing seems to squeek..checked to see if there was any sand or anything that is blocking the blade swipe, nothing..did not happen with the original one..nuisance..Kinda wished they never changed it in the first place..Kinda praying each time i go out that it does not rain..gets embarrasing when you give a lift and your passenger says their crappy little citroen does not make noises like that..HELP..can mercedes change the wipers even if nothing seems to be wrong with the blade..under warranty of course..

i drove a 06' C230 this summer for a loaner car and i realized that the new wipers on the newer c class are a lot better than the ones on the older W203. If i get new wipers at the stealership will they put the new C class wipers on my car??????????

what a wacky coincidence, both my pre-owned C's coming to me with the wiper spoiler in the incorrect top position. when I got the sedan, I figured my friend, a mechanic and Mercedes owner, might have been wrong, but I guess the botton is the right position.

Wipers are installed at the dealership on all new cars, and probaby replaced on "certified pre-owned" cars....
Chances are, they were installed incorrectly.
