What are your tire pressure's at?
I have mine at 29 psi in the front and 33 in the back...both are 205/55/16. however i'm always fish tailing.

I was running at 32psi front and 36psi rear. The rear tires were wearing like they were over inflated - this was when I had the Conti SC's. Now that I have the Kumho's I am running at 34psi front and rear. Seems to be okay - to me, since the Kumho's run a little harsher than the SC's, I went for a bit more comfort.

Running 35psi rears/33psi fronts for the 4-matic. The door jamb sticker calls for 29psi front, and 33psi rear, but oddly, the fuel filler cap calls for 31psi front and 33psi rear.

Ok, just a quick question. What tire pressure are you guys putting on your 18s. I've just got mine and can't decide on how much air I need.

the rule of thumb is that u add 4psi for every up size. So for example, my tires came stock 16 inch and the door panel had it at 28 psi front and 32 psi back. I upgraded and plus sized to 17inch so now in the front i have 32psi and back 36 psi, I gathered this information from one of the tire web sites, forgot which one. If anyone has any opionions please share.

NO WAY. to be honest with u i have talked with luke before, he knows alot but some of his answers are kind of shady. This is from a web site by a store called "DISCOUNT TIRES" the web site is www.tires.com below i have copied a portion of the web site that talks about upsizing.
Where To Find Air Pressure Information
The correct air pressure may be found in the vehicle owner's manual or on the tire placard (attached to the vehicle door edge, doorpost, glove box door or fuel door). If you have trouble, see a local tire dealer for assistance; check our directory for the nearest Discount Tire or America's Tire store. The placard tells you the maximum vehicle load, the cold tire pressures and the tire size recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
Another valuable resource is the Tire Load/Inflation Tables. Your nearby tire dealer should have a copy. Not only will this document tell you the correct tire pressure for stock sizes, but it will provide the information on optional plus sizes as well. A good example would be the findings on a Honda Civic with the stock size 185/65R-14; recommended air pressure is 28 psi. Plus one size is 195/55R-15 with a recommended air pressure of 32 psi. Plus two size is 205/45R-16 with a recommended air pressure of 36 psi. Note how the air pressure increases with plus sizing to meet the load carrying capacity for the car.

I consider myself **** when it comes to my cars, but not that ****! I visually inspect them pretty often, but I break out the gauge probably once every month or two when I think of it or if one looks low. My thing is checking them before long trips and maybe taking them up a few lbs for better mileage.

i check once a week, but that's only because one tire has a slight leak that nobody has been able to locate, and after not checking for one month the pressure was down to 14psi, and you could start seeing some irregular wear patterns. if you dont plan on checking often, overinflate by 2-4 psi to give yourself some room.

you should check it once a week and thats from a safety point of view. just buy a gauge (about 1-2 dollars) and buy an air pump an avarge one is about 30-50 dollars and u r set to do this at your home. just make sure when u check the pressure u check it after its been parked for at least 4 hours. the heat from the tires after driving will give u a miss read. so if u have to drive more than 1 mile to a gas station then when u get there u will have a differnt tire pressure than u would have had before u left. some people will write down the pressure on all 4 before they leave so when they get to the gas station then they know what the difference is. just make it simple and buy the device

I should have checked them when I first picked up my car from dealer, because when I checked them the next morning, here's the reading 29 front, 51.5 rear. I corrected them to 32 front, 36 rear instead.

Ok...Ok.. i know this has probably been discussed to death but I still can't find a good answer on mbworld....
I have bfg g-force tdws 235/45 on 17x8 all around on my 02 coupe...
So want is the optimal pressure....
the suggested 28/32 seems just too low...

Pressure is Pressure, there is only more air in the tire so the pressure would still be the same. It would of course just take more air to get to that pressure.

Depends on what kind of driving you're doing. If in town not too fast, etc. the recommended pressure is probably fine. If you do a lot of extended high speed driving, I would bump it up a few psi...
