I am extremely happy with my H&R Cup Kit... it isn't too low for me at all, i don't scrape anywhere, and i like the look and the ride. The only downside is that the back cambers significantly, so you will waste the rear tires quicker... you just have to rotate them often... unless your wheels are staggered... then, i'd say you'd buy tires twice as often as riding stock. but the key is to rotate often, and always keep them well balanced.

Does any one have Renntech springs? What % stiffer are they? How much do they lower your vehicle?

As far as I can tell, the Eibach's are progressive rate springs (i.e., they are softer in the first part of their travel, and progressively get stiffer the more they are compressed).

I don't know about the H&R's. Don't want them, did not research them beyond the amount of spring rate change from stock (too much for what I want).

Hey xc240x

You got a picture of that beast?
Carbon fiber hood?
Oh and I tried to shove it, but the coils got stuck!
Geez, don't be so touchy!
I think the H&R issue is likely a little different for the sedan vs the coupe.

They haven't made a H&R cup-kit for the c-coupe yet, have they? What's the ETA on it?

Most likely candidates that already make progressive rate springs for the W203 -

Intrax - http://www.intraxsuspension.com/
Ultimate Springs - http://www.ultimate-suspension.com
The Eibachs in question are in fact PRO-gressive; as per the website. EIBACH

Does anyone have the Carlsson suspension kit? Has anyone heard anything about them? Good or bad.

Thanks,

Tim

I dont know about the rest of you but Im more confused then ever. Im guessing to get the Eibach because from what Im hearing they do less damage to the shocks. The only thing Im worried about is 1.18" drop even noticeable

The main things I'm worried about with different shocks/suspension are:

1) There levels of wear and tear,
2) That the back of the car does not look lower than the front of the car!

Yeh, the Eibachs do sound like the way to go...
the website say the Pro kit for the couppe isn't yet available.
If I go to the trouble of replacing the springs, I'd think you'd want to put Bilstiens or Koni's in there....aren't they available?

Then again you could save enough money using stock shocks to buy a Pulley

carlsson has a coilover setup, my friend in overseas use them in c240, he can adjust the ride height between 30mm t0 80mm, the damper is also adjustable, the price in AUS$ is $3000, well at least that's the price my friend is selling.

I agree that Eibach is the way to go. The difference in drop between 1.3 and 1.6" is virtually undetectable.

As far as the rake is concerned, you can always adjust the rear drop with the 4 different spring pads (from 8mm to 23mm thick). You have a pair on your car right now, just look under them and count the dots. One dot is thin, 4 is thick. Put in different ones while replacing the springs.

So the question is, why do JeffC230's Eibach'ed back tires look lower than Black230Coupe's H&R's?

These are on the last 2 pages of the Picture thread (p22&23)

(I just brought up this post to move the discussion out of that thread)

I think what he is saying is that they come in varying sizes from the factory and his might have been lower to begin with.

the reason the rear looks lower is because the wheelwell is smaller in the rear.... i gives the perception that it is lower.... but most springs drop the front lower....

Just an FYI for those of you who may be undecided about upgrading your suspension...

Yesterday I installed an H&R cup kit on my C320 and what a difference it makes! My car had the "Sport" suspension before the upgrade and it doesn't even compare to the H&R cup kit. This was probably the best investment I have made to date. The ride quality is a little bit stiffer, but in a great way. You can feel the road surface better but it isn't harsh. Cornering and slalom are drastically improved as well as, nose dive under braking reduced. Anyway, I wanted to offer a quick reply concerning my purchase and let others know about my experience. Next purchases Wheels & tires and anti-roll bars...
