Broken Door Handle Plz Help

I can't find a replacement for a broken door andle for my 2001 c240, silver interior, passenger side... It's not the handle you use to open the door, but the one that is their for the passenger to grab while shutting the door. Anyone know where I can find one besides the dealer? I'd rather do it myself...

Thanks

Did the top of your "handle" seperate from the door? Thats what happened to mine. The handle was like $200 at the dealer and they had to remove the door panel to replace it.

I just went ahead and let the dealer do it since there are airbags and power seat controls in my passenger side door panel. Car was in for service anyway. I was kinda pissed my warranty didn't cover it. They claimed it was "trim", however you cant shut the door without it. That doesn't sound like trim to me...

Ok it looks like I wasn't accurate with the price. The part was $50 and the labor was $144. I think I had said the part was $200....

Still can't find it. I've searched everything every which way imaginable.. Is there a 1800 number I can call to order the part without actually having to go to the dealer? I live about ah our away from all dealers in the area, not including the risk of driving my precious mercedes through all of the construction areas bearing every single kind of flying debris known to man. I'd much rather order it online, and do it myself...

Try www.duvalmotorcars.com (service & parts section) I believe they are in Gainsville, FL and do mail order.
They have a 800 number that you can phone or you can email them thru the website. People have told me they better pricing than the other MB dealerships. Good luck!

To get major discounts on MB parts from your dealer you need to walk in and act like you are with TriCity Mechanics service or if you know someone inside MB to get the part for you.

You have to have some ***** to do the first but I have and it works. Go straight to the dealer counter with a mechanics outfit style clothing on.

You usually get a 50% discount off joe blow retail.

As someone pointed out above. My site has the step-by-step on this. The part cost me $30.60. Yeah, big difference from reetail.
