I helped somebody jump start her car today, and the next time I started my car, the SRS light came on, and has stayed on all day.

I'm not really sure what suddenly went wrong with the car - did the act of jump starting somebody else's car cause a short in mine? That just doesn't seem right...

Does anybody have any tips? I made an appointment with the dealership to check it out, but I don't want them charging me for hours and hours of "searching for the problem".

It's possible you cooked something. Check your fuses.

Did you follow the directions in the manual for jumping the car? I've jumped someone's car before (a few times actually) and never had that happen. Did you use the correct contact points?

My SRS light turned on after I sprayed some leather cleaner on the passender seat and the passenger side airbag is off. The dealer will probably find out what went wrong after plugging your car to their computer.

that weird. never heard that happen before. i actually jumped someone else's car last week and haven't received any error messages.

Thanks for the feedback...I checked the fuses, and they're fine. I used the right contact points, as indicated in the manual, so perhaps it was just a bizarre coincidence that the SRS lights came one after I jumped the car.

Oh well, I'm off to the dealership tomorrow so they can check it out.
