I think that its welded to the chassis
There has got to be a way for that sucker to get out of there. If it went in one way, gotta come out the same way. If the dealer had to replace that, they certainly must not have to cut thru the chassis to get to it :p

I'm guessing there is just a way to wiggle it around to get it free somehow, like one way only of snaking through around the other components to free it. Like my rear sway on my car, I had to lower my exhaust to get the damn thing out, and snake it around the rear axle.

Im sure that there is a way to take it out, but i just cant see it. I'll work on it some more this weekend, when I have more free time.

Yeah, sometimes that stuff is tricky. It can take a bit of time just to figure out how to get it out, so plan to dedicate a good few hours in the afternoon on a Sat or Sun. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Okay so I finally got my copy of the WIS software to work. The removal/installation of a torsion bar on the front axle on a w203 4-Matic requires

1) Removal of front right axle
2) Removal of left and right engine mounts
3) And lifting the engine with hoist attachment

Who the heck thought that that would be a good idea???

Needless to say, I have a set of new AMG sway bars for sale.

just put in the rear and forget the front
or cut the stock front bar and bring it to the dealer saying "this broke, can you put this piece in?"

Oh wow, that is such a troublesome process! Geez, whats that, like a 10 hour job if you needed a new sway bar or bushings for the sway? Crazy! Sorry that it didn't turn out for you
