HELP!! Front sway bar.

Im trying to replace my sway bars with the amg ones but I dont know how to remove the front nut from the end link. It just keeps spinning. There is nothing to stop the bolt from moving. How do I take the nut off? Thanks.

Yea. I looked at your DIY, but I dont have any inverted torx in the front I have bolts. The sway bar gets stuck on my drive shaft and I cant pull it out any further.

So you have a 4WD C-Classs? Even if you do, I find it hard to believe that the front driveshaft is that far forward. The front swaybar should just fall out when you remove the 4 bolts holding it to the body and the 2 bolts on the endlinks.

The suspension should be under load when removing the sways...it makes things much much easier to remove. If you can, get some ramps to drive up on so there is load on the suspension.

It cant just fall. There is frame in the way.

Sorry I can't help. That must be a 4matic AWD car. It looks totally different from all other W203 chassis. Not sure how you get to the frame mounted swaybar bushings, and how you snake that bar out.

I got the bushings out; it’s removing the sway bar from the car that I can’t figure out. I think that I’m going to have to wait until I install my lowering springs, and I have the suspension out of the way. I hope that the AMG sway bar will work with the 4matics.

Hmmm, that is interesting. There's gotta be a way to manuver the sway bar around the chassis so that it slides out. Have you gotten the bolts loose so that you can move it around? Its probably like a puzzle.

Yea I removed all 6 bolts and the sway bar moves, but I just cant get it out from under the car. It either gets cought on the drive shaft or the frame. If I was 100% certain that the AMG sway bar would work and that I would be able to get it in there I would have taken a sawzall to to stock bar. lol

LOL, just take a saw to it

Hmmm...is there any way to loosen or remove that bar that is blocking it? Or is it welded to the chassis and pretty much there and can't move it? Perhaps someone here has a Bently service manual that can look up the removal of the sway?

The sawzall is looking mighty tempting.

I think that its welded to the chassis
