Audio 10 Audio Interface problem
I installed a audio 10 becker cd player in my 2001 c240, which came with the tape player, teleaid, and bose. I installed the cd player as described, and it powers up just fine. Sometimes however, the cd player does not output any sound when I start the car. It always outputs sound when I turn it on with no key, acessory, and on, but just when I start the car, every 5 times or so, no audio comes out and the tracks wont change.
I talked to mercedes about it, and they said it need the audio link????? reset.. So i searched on here and found that you just pull the radio fuse.I did it, great the thing works..
Now it does it even less. But it still does it.. The other day I had to start the car 5 times over and over, so I could have sound. That's not good on the starter, so I need to fix it somehow.. I'm lost.. I've searched and searched but it seems I'm the only one that has this problem. I've even posted on some similar threads, but I think this one might deserve its own...
Any help is appreciated!
With the key out of the ignition, press and hold the volume knob for 5-7 seconds. This should power up the unit (even though ignition is off) and reset the audio link between the head and the bose amp. Adjust volume up and down to verify.
If that doesn't do it, pull the unit and try switching the fiber optic leads in the connector to the head unit. Beyond that, you may have a defective head unit or bad fiber optic link.
Thanks!
