Drex, yes I absolutely love the color. When I first saw it in the detail bay, I was a touch disappointed as it looked totally blue under the fluorescent lights, but in natural or incandescent light, it looks great. It is black with a hint of blue, just as I expected.

Diamond Black ALL the way =D
Hope you enjoy your new car - 200 hp is good enuff if you ask me, but C280 - 228 is eeven better
Should we compare C230 with 323i? I mean 323i also has 200 hp, and is the least expensive to purchase.
Oh, btw, since you leased it, you can't really do anything with the car correct?

MBWorld Fanatic!
Well, the car finally arrived and I picked it up last night!
This is my 1st Benz, and so far I am VERY pleased with the car.
I'll post some pics as soon as the weather breaks, as it is raining and the car is dirty as hell already.
I will keep this as "my" thread and post all pics and mods here

Yup. That's actually what I loved about it (it looking totally blue) after the first person that got Diamond Black posted pics on here. When I asked what blue that was (because I had never seen that before), I was initially thinking it was Capri Blue with a really good detail job. Once I found out it was a "new" color (at the time) Diamond Black, I had a new favorite. So, my next benz is definitely going to be diamond black (as long as the color stays around). I'm actually kinda happy that my color got discontinued because now, it'll be even more rare/unique.

I bought the car, not leased, so I have free reign to mod how I want. Though, I am content with the car as is for a while. Gives me a chance to get used to the car, research and contemplate where I want to go with the car.
What is this 1 week service you are scaring me with?

BTW, just to answer the question 'bout the 1 week service, I think it's in reference to that initial check that was "added" to service checks by MB from 2005 models to present. But that's after the first 1000 miles though, from what I remember.
Someone with a 2005-Present model chime in, cuz I didn't have to do this.

the dealer did a 1000 mile service on my car while they were trying to figure out what the problem is with the knocking/tapping sound coming from the rear right panel while the car is stopped "gear in D, brake applied".
I dont know what they did to the 1000 mile service.. probably nothing. but he did tell me to stop by again for the 6000 service later for tire rotation. I said, that's great especially for my staggered setup.. rotate what? LOOOL

looking great. the 07 stockies are nice. Hey John, after you put a few hundred miles on your car. Can you check to see if you get a knocking sound coming from the rear right side of your car when you come to a complete stop "gear in D and brake applied" ? There are a few memebers on this board is having that problem but the dealer can't seem to resolve it. 06, 07 C230s
Thanks,

I am driving it like crazy and already have over 300 miles on it. So is the sound happen right when you completely are stopped, or just before? I am following the break-in, so the transmission is always in "c" mode, and I have not shifted the transmission manually. I haven't heard anything yet, but I'll keep a listen.
well, I hope that it doesnt matter to your ride. Maybe it's just a bad bulit for mine.

looks awesome to me!!!
I also followed the MB directions in the break-in procedures - havent gone past 3K RPM... I am so proud of myself
but now I have 2000 km on it But the car is awesome, and I think the break in is almost done... so time to get up to the 5k-6ks

I have taken it to ~4k quite a few times. The procedure says no more than 2/3 or max rpm. Since redline is ~6200 rpm's, 2/3 of that is ~4K. I did hit almost 5K when pulling away from a tailgater. I am a firm believer in following the MB break-in, but also believe babying the car the first 1K miles is more detrimental than driving it with moderate acceleration and rpm's.

john and san, Your cars look great!
Mine was a service loaner for its first year, and I'm not seeing evidence of abuse.
The engine is smooth as silk, and easily revs throughout the range.

Exactly..and I really don't think that for the people who drove a loaner would kept it under 3k rpm for the 1st 1000 mile (i am not saying that is for sure but it's very unlikely). Yet, your engine is still running silky smooth... so besides the engine, what else is a proper break-in good for?

Both of those seem to be working fine, and I change fluids and filters way more frequently than the A, B, C, service schedules.
So far so good, and hopefully so good so far.

Lighting Mods
Before:
After:
Sylvania Silverstar 1157 turn signal bulbs. $11.99 at local auto parts store.
One thing I still can't understand, is why are the signal bulbs dual filament when they never use the low watt filament (On my car at least)?

Chrome door pins and surrounds
Before:
After:
Bought these pins and surrounds from Ebay here. I hated how the factory pins stuck up so far, and I always hit my arm on it when I went to rest my arm on the top of the door panel. These one's look nicer and complement the other chrome in the car. There was some confusion as to whether the 07's just unscrewed like previous models, but rest assured they do in fact unscrew.
