IPOD installation
Others have modified the head unit, disabling the cassette deck, but that's a lot of work. Still more have installed other third party devices but these installations are still controlled from the iPod itself (skip track, ff, rew, play etc). Don't go for a cassette adapter - they (expletive deleted). Most fm modulators fall into the same category.
No reasonably priced third party device will control from the steering wheel.
Of course, if you have the COMAND navigation system, you can use the aux in on the front panel of that.

I've tried a lot of fm modulators - this is by far the best.
