Comand install problems.

OK so i finally got around to installing the comand navigation unit. I'm having huge problems with it. First off i have a 2003 c230 coupe, and im installing a euro comand from a user of this forum (it has a MBenzNL sticker on it). I installed the unit according to the DIY's on this and other forums. Im pretty sure it is installed correctly. Most things work the unit turns on and displays radio stations (with rds) and even the radio stations cd tracks show u on the driver display..
The Problem:
Can not hear anything from the speakers.
Unit not finding the cd changer.

I think its something wrong with the fiber optic output of the unit. Please tell me im wrong, and if im right can i get it fixed.

I've just recently installed comand and used the full comand harness that would be used if it was factory fitted.

What i noticed was that because i have Bose and no speaker connections sound would only be available once the wake-up and canbus cables were connected at the sills.

Do you have Bose?

its your audio interface/link , try reseting it. I have the same problems with my becker 10... its the piece in the car that regulates the "turn power on" signal to all db2 devices. If just one is off of the set beat, no sound AND no optional loop devices (phone CD aux) b/c the loop is broken. Probably won't be able to change the tracks either, jmo.

First check if it's the C to C1/C2 connectors that went wrong, the CD changer get's it's power from the old C connector, now C1.

C pin 1 ==> C2 pin 9 (brn/red CAN B high)
C pin 2 ==> C2 pin 8 (brn CAN B low)
C pin 4 ==> C2 pin 10 (blu/blk D2B wake-up)
C pin 5 ==> C1 pin 6 (red/blk CD changer +)
C pin 6 ==> C1 pin 5 (brn CD changer -)

Do you have Bose? If you have Bose, then there's something not right in the fiber loop. If you don't have Bose, there's something not right in connector B (the one in between the C connector you butchered and the A connector), that's all speaker wires there. Also make sure your fiber connection, antenna, power lead for antenna all that stuff is 100% seated correctly on the back of the unit.

Happy Festivus from Buellwinkle!
