Question Bluetooth Module & Handsfree System

Hi I visited a MB dealership today to check out C230 Sport. I wanted the Bluetooth Car Kit. The salesman told me that there is Mercedes factory option and aftermarket option.

He said if I just install the bluetooth module, I can connect with bluetooth-enabled phone but the information is not display in the dash. He mention I need the handsfree system for that.

So the handsfree system and bluetooth module is two different option??The thing is I can't find Bluetooth as an options in MB website and brochure. They just have Hands-Free Communication System. I only see Bluetooth module option when I "Build my Own" configuration online.

Any comments are appreciated. Thanks!

The argos website doesn't work for me anymore. i've been trying for weeks to see if the kit is available for the 05+ models:

http://www.aardvarkmm.com

I suspect the new site is http://eurocarphone.com/ but I don't know for sure.

In any case, still not available for 05+ models according to the second link.

I found ppl selling the Mecedes Benz MHI Bluetooth Interface Module on ebay for around $300. Does it require anything else to install it for 2005+ C230?

Thanks!

The hands-free integrates the phone with the vehicle. That is, the on and off hook wheel buttons work, the dash shows the caller, the wheel buttons permit navigating through the directory and the COMMAND permits dialing, directory access, through the keypad letters and access to last dialed and received calls.

Yes, there are three required items. The hands-free kit, built into the vehicle, the cradle, which can be Bluetooth and the phone, an MB phone required for the snap in cradle.
