Can you rip it as an iso then burn it?
OT: Mac's are for non educated PC users. I had a MacBook for a few months and sold it. Only good thing about it was boot camp..

Now, my education isn't in computer sciences and I am no programmer by any stretch of the imagination - but neither is your average user. Computers aren't like exotic sports cars.. no special education or talents should be required to operate them in everyday use. Then again, Windows reminds me of a 1990s American automobile - clunky and unrefined. So maybe the car analogy does work?
Again, this is , but you're sadly mistaken if you think Mac users simply aren't educated enough to use a PC properly. We just don't want the headache.

The service Manuel is like the best thing ever created. You order it from mercedes and it comes on a dvd. you install the program to your computer and you have access to pretty much everything you ever need to know about your w203. It is what the dealership techs use to figure out how to take apart and fix all of the cars they work on. there are ones for every model and seem to get updated versions throughout the years the newest one for the w203 is the 07 version which has 01-07 in it.

And I'm not ready to pay $75 for this. I think the price of this job in dealler shipp will be close $75 8=( What is metter to buy it.

People who wouldn't take a piece of candy from a complimentary tray without asking for permission do not hesitate to become computer hackers or cybernetic copyright thieves. Wow... and then they complain about third world countries.
As for Apple, great system, but not big or universal enough. Even the tie to SAP works for Windows.

C200 W203 Service Manual
I come from Philippines, and I have been requesting the local dealer to provide me with an English Version of Owner's Manual (My car is an import and it came with German Version Manual) but got no response to date, much less luck on a SERVICE MANUAL.
I am looking for a SERVICE MANUAL for my 2001 C200 Kompressor Avantgarde (W203).
I am willing to send payment through PAYPAL (Verified Account) to someone who can share with me the said Manual, please.
I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks and more Power to MBWORLD.

So if you have an old computer just use it or buy a cheap one off ebay. when i get some money i am going to by myself a new thinkpad and use my old one for star. I hope that since it is a thinkpad that star will work without much fuss.

W203 Service Manual
Thanks for the reminder. Wouldn't MB tell you what OS it should work on?
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate Edition (64 bit).. but if it works on an older version of Windows (XP, VISTA) I can find a way to make it run.
Thanks

on the back of mine system requirements
Pentium class processor
windows 2000 with sp4, windows xp with sp2, windows vista
256mb of ram,
150mb hard drive space
web browser support ie 5.01 or later
adobe acrobat reader 6.0 or later
dvd rom drive
super vga or higher monitor with high colors
so does not say 64bit compatible on it and going back to what i said about mac compatibility. As far as i know all the dealers that use star are still running xp pro 32bit and until that changes Mercedes has no reason to make any of its software windows7 compatible or anything. Yes it does work with windows 7 but i doubt they care either way.

In my email exchanges with MBUSA I was under the impression that they updated the DVD for 64-bit compatibility. They said to send the old one in after a number of tries with work-arounds to get the old one to work failed. I guess we'll see when I get the replacement DVD.
Hopefully they've also fixed the bug where I have to turn off Skype in order for the reader to work. That one took a week of email exchanges with the developers in Germany to sort out.

Also there's alldatadiy.com
But what they claim to offer and what you get isn't the same.
For mercedes W203 they got squat, I asked for a refund and canceled my subscription.

DVD Manuals
Has anybody tried any of the manuals available on ebay? (search W203 manual)
I ordered one from victvator but so far I haven't been able to use it (he didn't ship it till I reminded him I ordered it, when I got it, a file was corrupt, I'm waiting for the replacement and should get it in a day or so). It was pretty inexpensive (maybe cheap) - something like $17 plus shipping. It runs on OS/2 in a vmware virtual machine. That doesn't excite me, but I'll know more when I get it.
There is a guy, messer-360 who has what appears to be a different DVD manual for a little more money (about $25).
I don't plan on rebuilding engines or trannys - only more simple stuff like brake jobs, etc. so I was planning on getting a Haynes manual because I've liked them in the past, but I heard their manual on the C230 was terrible so I'm staying away for now.
Anyway, when I finally get a DVD that works, I'll post my impressions, but I was wondering if this was already plowed ground and not worth exploring.
Thanks!

DVD Manual update:
I've been going back and for with victvator. He (they) are very responsive, but they are light on computer technicals. The virtual machine (essentially a computer that is software) they sent me did not include Adobe reader (was that ever available on OS/2?) and that's where the help documentation was. When I finally convinced them that having Adobe reader on my machine, did not make it available to the virtual machine (it's a separate computer, right?), they volunteered to send me a new disk with the manuals in a different format (but they say it only works on 32 bit XP. Given their apparent technical expertise, I'm not convinced that it won't work on 64 bit Windows.) I haven't received it yet. I'll let you know what happens.
