270-CDI cold start problem
270-CDI cold start problem
Hi.
Well, my C-class 270 CDI has some annoying problem and I was wondering if anyone here could help.
The thing is, that when starting the car cold, it won´t start up right away. I sometimes have to start the car 4 or 5 times or even more before it will start up.
But once it has sprung to life, there doesn´t seem to be any problem. I can turn the engine off and it will start right back up again. There is also no lack of power or performance.. whatsoever.
What the dealer has done so far is this:
New Air flow sensor. ( What the code reader said )
New fuel filter
New air filter
Tested the glow plugs, and their resistance is within limits
The Mercedes code reader doesn´t find any more trouble codes and just keeps saying everything is OK, which it apparently is not..
So, any ideas or tips most welcome since there doesn´t seem to be any solution ahead..
Thanks and merry Christmas..
Cheers.,

get the sealings on the fuellines to and from highpressure pump replaced...the parts are cheap, easy to replace and most probably causing your problem.
When these sealings leak a little it will allow air to enter the fuel lines which makes starting when cold troublesome...leaks are usually not visible except for airbubbles in the fuellines when starting...it is a common problem.

I recently had the same issue, but thank God it got sorted out....THIS IS HOW
1. FUEL INJECTORS HAD TO BE REMOVED and CLEANED
2. Camshaft positioning sensor had to be replaced....
3. O rings replaced
