Supercharge a c180?

Dear All,

I was at my mechanic and I was getting somethings fixed and my bix installed (looks sweet btw) on my 2002 C180. He mentioned that he can install a kompressor from a c200K in my 2.0L C180. Price isn't that bad.

Is there something I should take care of. Is it recommended. What type of power am I looking at? Is the kompressor for all MB the same?

Your feedback in greatly appreciated!

C180 is a Euro edition 2.0L non-kompressor engine sold between 2001 and 2002, as sedan and sportcoupe.

I am almost sure that the ECU will have several problems with the mod from non-kompressor to kompressor. You might as well find a totalled rear ended c200k and make the transplant. It will be safer...

See a whole engine transplant would cost about 4-5K USD but just a compressor would cost me about 400-500 USD So there is significant difference. It's not the first time he's done it. But I'm just wondering if someone else has.

and would I get the same power as the C230 Coupe with the 1.8L engine.

I believe his car is a C180 WITHOUT a KOM.. so your KLEEMANN link doesnt really apply to his case til he 's got his Kom installed.
