bad motor mounts at 36k miles?

Complained about a rough idle to the dealer... car has been in the shop for 3 days. They say it is bad motor mounts, anyone else have this problem?

There was a discussion about this issue in early Cs as posted on here. Therefore it seems to be a known problem that supposedly was addressed with a redesign in later MYs. What MY is yours?

Very common problem with the C classes. Did you happen to notice if it changed if you were in neutral/idling in gear?

don't think it'll be too hard. I think you just need to have a engine lift to hang on to the engine while you go under the car and loosen the mounts.

That qualifies it as "hard" for me, as I have neither a car lift nor an engine lift.

well i got the car back, much smoother now. Shifts feel smoother as well. I guess all that drivetrain shock generated by the trans was amplified by the bad mounts.

Mine is a C180K and the mounts were worn at 30k miles (~45k km). Dealer says the replacement is not covered by warranty as the mounts are wear and tear items.
