AVIC Z1 Install 2005 Kompressor Sedan - Finally!

I finally decided to take a chance and here's the finished product. No need to rewire anything in the car, kept factory amp, speakers, well except for cd changer optic wiring everything worked out well. And the kit was custom made.

did you get the kit that doesnt omit your steering wheel button control + ipod kit? (if you have an ipod kit).

i was looking at this unit at best buy but i would still take the OEM over this. it is def a plus to have dvd capabilities tho.

looks great!

No, i've read about that kit on the forum but i wasn't sure where to get it from and how easy an install it could be. Does it really work? I had the aux ipod hook up(press and hold cdc down) but that surely doesn't work right now!

The factory iPod kit will not work with aftermarket head units. Steering wheel controls can be maintained with a Pioneer kit for the W203. It is not sold in the US, so you need to order it on eBay from someone overseas. There is a kit for prefacelifted W203s and facelifted W203s. I have the kit and it works great with my Z1.

Thanx! When you say "steering wheel" controls, given that you no longer have mb cd player or changer, can you still change the track, radio station(seek)? and i'm sure you regain the vol up/down
