I don't think your car has a dipstick, just a fill tube. You also will probably have to break a seal to get the lid off the fill tube (no big deal).

http://www.installuniversity.com/mb/...ans_oring.html

Check out Figure's 19 and 21 for 240 placement and maybe this will help.

wizkid:

thanks alot for the reply, and great site u got there. my dad has a 02 c240 that i got the filter and atf fluid (partially) changed this summer and i wish i knew about your site at that time.

my c230 seems to be quite different, it doesnt have the usual fill hole in the same place. (that i can see anyways) im thinking it may have one of those fill holes where u can stick your finger in to see if it has level?

anyways im going to try and attach pictures, if any one wants to guess where the fill tube could be....

thanks again!

You are correct. Your motor is totally different. What is that yellow handle pull thing in the photo?

Oh yeah, do you have a manual or auto?

ATF fill tubes are normall located at the rear of the engine copmartment.

I have an AUTO. The yellow pull thing is my engine oil dipstick.

I checked the rear of the compartment with a flashlight and nothing indicates a fill hole.

I also just did some sherlock holmesing and went on www.thepartsbin.com. they list a replacement fill lock for the 02 c240 but not for the 06 c230, which makes me think there is no fill tube for the c230?....

thanks again for your reply, wizkid!

Wizkid, I know this is off topic from this thread but do you know where the air condition motor is on the cars? My ac is making a rumbling noise ever since the weather drops below 20 degree here and I suspect it is from the cold. I remember the manual said something about lubricating the ac motor every few years, is there a special oil needed for the motor?

I have no idea about the ac system on any car. I have never had to fool with them. Sorry.

The compressor for the AC is at the bottom-passenger-side of the accessory belt. You will see 2 large insulated pipes going to it.

The system is filed with AC gas + oil. But I never heard AC oil need to be replaced. If it's noisy, I would think the bearings are failing??

Other that that, I have the same question Sanny posted. Where is the AT dipstick on the picture he posted?
