2005 C230 Oil/Filter Change

After 2 trips to the dealer for the A and B scheduled maintenance periods, I've decided to perform future maintenance myself. I've changed oil many times over the years, but never in a Benz. In fact, during my most recent trip to the dealer, I was told the front rotors needed replacing, as well as the disc pads. I purchased the rotors and discs online and did the work myself. The only additional tool I had to buy was a #18 (I think) TORX. Here are my questions:

-Because there is no dipstick on this model, is there any other way to access the oil from the top of the engine (to use a vacuum pump)?
-I looked for the filter housing from the top of the engine but can't find it. Where is it? Do you have to remove the belly pan to get to it?
-How do you reset the maintenance reminder? I've looked through all the manuals that came with the car, but all it says it "contact the dealer".

Thanks for the help.

I take mine to the local gas station, they take it from me - but then again I know the guy personally.

Btw, how often do you guys do an oil change - I have been doing it per 3000 Km, which is around 1800 Miles?
How often do you guys do it?

Link? I've been clicking thru their website, it's... not customer-friendly.

On my V6 02 C240 it is on the passenger side behind the air filter box. The top pops right off.
