German Wheel question
Just coming from years(20) of owning Japanese cars and never seeing this before, I noticed that all wheels for German cars have 5 small holes in between where the lug bolts go.
What are these small holes for? It sort of wrecks the look of the wheel as they look hit by a shotgun
Is this another unexplainable idiosyncrasy of German wheel design like having bolts instead of studs and nuts, making hanging a wheel and aligning holes a pain in the butt?

answers...
1) the small holes are to make the wheels lighter
2) bolts are easier to replace than studs and nuts, you hang the wheel by using the pin in the trunk...i find it easier to use 2 of them..
