Quote: Yeah, it is easier from what I hear. The AMG Supercharger needs a lot of parts, software upgrades and codes. Hm, I guess I'll see when I get there. By the way, do you still have the brakes??

Brakes are gone, but do you want the suspension?

Yeah, I'm interested in the suspension. PM me your price... by the way, if I get the sway bars without the end-links will my car roll over?! lol... Or is it better to just get them and install them at the same time?

By the way, in my top armrest compartment I have a phone jack - I just discovered this yesterday, does this come in all cars? Or does this mean the car was pre-wired for a phone? I've just never noticed it curious if everyone else has it.

Thanks.

No they don't. I think if you have that it's supposed to come with a Motorola V60 phone as well.

From cars.com:

Phone Equipment (VPC Installed)
Includes integrated Motorola V60 (TM) dual-band digital portable telephone.

Phone Equipment w/Voice Control (VPC Installed)
Includes integrated Motorola V60 (TM) dual-band digital portable telephone with voice control system for operation of commonly used telephone and audio system features.

So you probably have one of these packages.

Well I brought the car used, so presumably the first owner didn't give the car back with the phone! But that phone sucks anyway, I'm wondering though can it be used to integrate another phone?

I think so. I remember reading something about a kit that could be used to adapt it to work with other phones. I think it was in the audio and electronics part of the forum.

So does this mean the car is pre-wired then or it's just there? WaveyKat did you try and do anything with this?

I'm gonna try and search the electronics thread, but anyone with info feel free to post.

No, looks like I'm gonna have to shell out $800 for them - was looking for a used set, but it's impossible to find.

You can get some replicas for about $300 if you want to go that route.

Niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! Has anybody isntalled these or seen these? Curious about the quality, but for just side skirts, how bad could it be?

Looks like I'm gonna go with these guys, although why is their shipping so expensive, guess they're trying to make some of that money back.

Ok, well these will do but I'm emailing the company and they seem very shady, ... let me find out.

The email I got from them:
------------------------------------------------------------------
The part needs to be Painted, sanded, fitted, can require light modifications.

It's fiberglass, and about 1/6th the cost of the original AMG bumper. If you are not familiar or know about fiberglass I suggest you do not buy this. It is new.

www.DURAFLEXKITS.com
Visit our website for our complete line of Duraflex and Carbon Creations products.

Your low priced source for original duraflex body kits!
-------------------------------------------------------------------

When a seller 'recommends' that you do not buy from him... that's worrying.

This is one of the places i was looking at: http://grounddynamics.com/Templates/...644&SearchYN=N

I've seen them on other sites that sell body kits though. It's usually around the same price, and they probably get it from the same source.

Cuious about ebay body kit sellers.
I'm curious about how good these eBay replica body kits are. They call them Duraflex, Hiflex......made with Fiberglass, Plastic, and flex resin. Suppose to be 70-ish percent stronger than Fiberglass. Anyone have any info on how good they are?

I'm planning on doing exactly what Tee_tz did to his front. I currently have the same front bumper as like what he had but mine is a 02, C240.

Any advice on whether to buy the eBay "duraflex" replica kits or to buy used OEM?

I found this post to be very informational...thanks all.

I still have an Albaster white front and rear 2005-2007 front and rear bumper. Brand new paint in perfect condition, all the front plate holes are filled. Includes required supports and foam insterts and headlight washer panels, and jack plug in the rear. Ready to install if you have a white car. They will fit all C class cars from 2001-2007.

Guys,

I'm thinking of getting R. Stevens's AMG bumpers (front and rear ONLY) and I'm still not sure what parts do I need to get for installing these bumpers on my car..

His bumper is 2005-2007 AMG bumpers. Will these bumpers fit my car (2004 C230 non-sport sedan) modifications? Like straight install as long I get all the necessary parts to install them?..He did tell me it will fit just fine since he was getting these bumpers for his 2004 C230SS.

So far from what I read here:

Front..

1. Front cover
2. mesh (3 pieces?) -->It's included based from the pics he posted
3. clips for the mesh?
4. reinforcement bar (Is it the same with bumper support?)
5. AMG foglights
6. foam inserts
7. License plate bracket

Is there anything I can use from my car? The bumper support and foam inserts maybe?

What should I do to have the washer system working on the front end? I mean his bumper has the washer covers and I don't have the washer system in my car now. It does come with a washer panel?

Can I just install the front bumper without having the washer system working?

Rear...

I'm assuming the rear is a straight install? What's a jack plug that R Stevens mentioned?

One more thing, by any chance you guys know how much the shipping would cost for these bumpers to Canada?

THX guys..Appreciate your help

Nick..
