Service B

What is Service B -- as in what's included? If you have a list of things that need to be performed, please let me know, before I go and waste $650 at Mercedes-Benz.

Also, does anybody know the price of the bumper re-enforcement bar (for AMG Bumpers)? And is it this:

or this:

Thanks,

Tee_Tz.

Just asked that of my local MB Dealer Service Mngr. when my 04 CLK 500 started flashing me "Service B "... I was told for $500, they do the oil change, filters, check brakes, check steering componets, tire wear, etc...
I opted to PASS and changed the oil and filter, installed Green Air Filters, cleaned the cabin air filter, checked the brakes and steering linkages myself and checked the air pressure in my tires... Oh yeah, and reset the "Service Interval"... Just an FYI, they charge like $78 for the oil filter and I bought mine online for $18.00 plus the oil drain plug brass o-rings... I got the Green Filters ( need 2 for a CLK, 2247's ) for $38 each... I picked up the 5w-30 Mobil 1 locally for $5.50 a quart...

But then if I do all these steps, can I turn off the light or will it automatically turn off?

Beginning 2005 the schedule maintenance were no longer covered by the warranty. Instead consumers were given an option to purchase a Vehicle Maintenance plan which would include vehicle service.
