2002 C320 brakes
So I recently got a warning light of brake lining wear. Does anyone know how soon do I have to have the pads replaced. Also, is there a certain type of pads that this car uses. I called a few places and they are telling me that I have to replace the rotors too. Is that true?

Depends on how hard you are on brakes, basically you have about 10% left that could be 100 miles or 3,000 miles, depending on how you drive and since there's one sensor, how bad the other side is.
MB pads are cheap, rotors are also cheap. Just replace all if there's any question. I think pads for that car from Duval Motors (link on my website) are $55 and rotors are similar.

C320s of the 2002 vintage come with a sensor on each front wheel.
Once a sensor lights up, you have about 3/16" of pad left. You should have plenty of time to decide what you want to do.

2002 C230
Latching onto this thread, but hoping MB-BOB can assist.
I have an '02 C230K and wondering if I have rear brake wear sensors? I am getting the tell-tale squealing that I usually associate with brake pad wear indicators (in other cars) but I've gotten no warning/fault on the console.
If I do need to replace them, should I consider anything other than brakes/rotors/anti-squeal paste to do the job? Is there anything special about doing a brake job on these as compared to older less technoligically advanced cars?
