Sirius signal is not sent to the ground except when the satellites are over US and the Southern part of Canada. It is not available in HI and AK, except on some cable networks.

Sirius came with my car, and it was a life saver when I drove it from Los Angeles to Montreal. The Blue Collar station is freaking hilarious.

I have XM in my car and I love it !! No more commercials ! No problem with reception here in Toronto, even downtown with all the tall buildings there is no problem with reception, the only place where there is no reception is in underground parking lots (obviously). Have my XM installed in the ashtray compartment, when I'm not using it I just close the cover ! Great listening to songs you haven't heard in years because regular radio won't play them, and nothing is censored !! When you get tired of the music stations there is always the comedy stations, uncensored too !!!

Both XM and Sirius (had both) sound flat, poor dynamic range and after a while just gets my nerves for music (great for talk radio). And that's via AUX In on Comand or even on my wife's Jeep where it's XM direct in the factory radio. To me, FM, althought has lots of commercials, has better dynamic range and the CD of course is the best. I now use an iPod, with several hundred songs, some podcasts (some radio stations let you download their talk shows), I have a better selection (only what I want goes on the iPod) and better sound quality.

With that said, I can't tell the sound quality difference at 65 mph in the 2 other cars we have that have XM radio, 1) our Jeep Wrangler soft top, 2) our Mustang convertible.

I have the factory installed satellite radio, Sirius, in my car, and it's ok. It does annoy me a little when it cuts out under bridges or in areas with lots of tress.

I personally haven't really noticed a difference in the quality of the sound but it could just be me not paying attention.

If you go on lots of long drives, then i recommend it, as you can listen to the one station without having to find new ones.

I have XM with a high end audio setup. XM sounds much better than FM. Some talk stations have poor dynamics, but the music stations sound great.
